Depending on your situation, being married could actually mean you pay more in taxes.

That's the part I always hated. It was hostile towards people who liked the lore but didn't want to group up with some guy named LaserButt4000 who didn't want to go to the same dungeon as you, but was happy to get your rare loot in a bad roll of the dice.

Private servers with scaling for dungeon soloing were a godsend. WoW is actually awesome as a single player game. It's unfortunate the devs never realized that.

This is a misleading perspective. Why would you need to codify "settled law?" SCOTUS had ruled that it was a constitutional right already so you wouldn't need a separate law.

You're also ignoring Casey. It wasn't just Roe.

They also don't typically say they're "pro-abortion."

The infographic states "facts" that weren't relevant at the time.

Some of the universities mentioned in the article are public institutions. SCOTUS held in Healy v James that the 1st Amendment applies to public universities. So some of the actions could be considered 1st Amendment violations.

Hey, it was a highly accurate, academically astute, peer-reviewed depiction of a scripted comedy scene!

There's not enough information that I'd be comfortable drawing conclusions about this. One person's past flame can be another person's one who got away. It's entirely possible she's keeping tabs on you online in a method you're not aware of, but if you don't know that she's intentionally moved to be close to you and she hasn't done anything concerning like made threats or faked a pregnancy or created circumstances that compel you to interact with her against your normal inclinations, I wouldn't guess stalking. Some people do coincidentally reconnect.

That said, the important question is whether you want to engage with her or not going forward. If you don't, I wouldn't lead her on by giving her any more attention. Make a clean break and just tell her you're not interested. If she reacts with melodrama or stalking behavior, then you'll definitely know you made the right decision.

If you are interested in possibly pursuing something with her or at least giving her a chance, be honest that you're a little freaked out about how she's previously behaved. You shouldn't proceed with her thinking that the behavior was not concerning. She should respect your comfort levels if she wants a relationship. If she's dismissive of your concerns and comfort, it's a big red flag that you shouldn't engage further.

Yeah, there are so many movies based on media with a deeper and richer source material than can be presented well in a 2-hour movie format. For example, the Ender's Game novel spent a significant amount of time on the progression of Ender's career at the Battle School and the movie only spent as much time as was necessary to show that he was good. A TV series could tell the parallel story of Ender's Shadow as well in the same season.

A counterexample is that sometimes the TV series may over milk the source material and drag out which should be a shorter story. The first season of American Gods was awesome, but they kept dragging out the series way too much by stretching out the stories of minor characters and fumbled in the end.

If drug use while pregnant is child endangerment, then society should be indicted whenever a woman is denied all the prenatal care necessary to deliver a healthy baby regardless of her income or wealth, otherwise we'd be prosecuting people for being poor. Oh wait, we already do that in other scenarios! My bad. Carry on!

It's possible that they thought the first one didn't post and kept trying. Sometimes you get a timeout error and return to the editable text with the post button again but the post already went through.

The Lancet published a study comparing the COVID infection rate and death rate in the 50 states. It concluded that “SARS-CoV-2 infections and COVID-19 deaths disproportionately clustered in U.S. states with lower mean years of education, higher poverty rates, limited access to quality health care, and less interpersonal trust — the trust that people report having in one another.” These sociological factors appear to have made a bigger difference than lockdowns (which were “associated with a statistically significant and meaningfully large reduction in the cumulative infection rate, but not the cumulative death rate”).

The states with less education and higher poverty rates, etc. were more likely to be red states that opened up sooner, so lockdowns likewise corresponded to fewer infections and fewer deaths.

Look at Alabama and Oregon. Similar population sizes. Alabama opened up earlier and had about three times as many infections and deaths (or more).

I'm not saying I disagree with your position, but being a Trump supporter or anti-choice is a choice, whereas being LGBTQ isn't, so the comparison isn't of equal demographic descriptors.
