I love the tactile feeling of writing on paper.

The insane greed is something I simply can't comprehend. Isn't there a point at which it's enough? It seems almost like a mental illness. Indefinite growth and infinitely increasing profit margins aren't possible. There's a limit to value and possible revenue. I don't know where all of this is going, but it can't be anywhere good, and I'm sure it will be violent. I seem to be in the minority, but I absolutely believe there is a point where a person has enough wealth and doesn't, perhaps even shouldn't, have more.

I'm not an economist, but what is the endgame here? Eventually, in their ideal delusions, every household has their own subscription. How do they intend to fuel growth then? Just more price increases? I don't understand this extreme capitalism. Can't a business just be happy to be profitable? Why do they focus so much on indefinite growth like some kind of tumor?

Isn't that also referred to as Virtual Intelligence vs Artificial Intelligence? What we have now I'd just very well trained VI. It's not AI because it only outputs variations of what's it been trained using algorithms, right? Actual AI would be capable of generating information entirely distinct from any inputs.

I think I could count the number of porn posts I've seen in the last month on one hand. Where do they claim all of it is coming from? I wouldn't mind more porn tbh.

Speaking their truth. In this kind of situation, the only absolute truth is that u/spez is a huge fuckwad. All else is really just opinion.

Same. I won't let go of Reddit completely until more of the people in my favorite subs migrate and rebuild their communities here, if they do so at all. But Lemmy and Mastodon will become my new main social hubs either way.

My favorites (right now) are learning to play star wars legion better, getting back into gunpla, finding mobile games that aren't utter garbage, trying and failing to find decent friends, and sorrowfully watching hasbro destroy magic the gathering.

What does pending subscribe mean?

Yeah same. I have no real love for Reddit itself, but it has so many subreddits dedicates to very specific interests. They're so easy to find and they can turn into such a treasure trove of information. I'll stop using Reddit as my "main" social media, but I'll probably still use it just for certain subreddits.

I also am looking for a replacement Grimdank. May the Machine God guide us to a new grimdark shitpost repository.

Yeah I will probably still use Reddit for my hobby communities. The knowledge amassed in those subs is too valuable to leave completely

That was the thing I enjoyed most about it really
