A lot of companies won't even allow remote work which would put a huge dent in commuter related pollution. Will that fix everything by itself? Nope, but it'd be a step in the right direction.

But they won't even do THAT. This one little thing that'd be better for a lot of people and reduce car dependence related pollution for people in areas with little to no public transit access.

I have a hard time believing the US will ever catch up to green initiatives since corporate lobbying pays corrupt assholes more...

That's just straight up rude. People need to remember what being a decent person means. Sorry you had to deal with that. I hope you find someone who appreciates you and doesn't tolerate rude ass comments being made about you(if you havent already that is!)

What a bunch of assholes. Glad you don't have to deal with that anymore

It is a weird American thing, but I'm not sure where it comes from. My husband and I are the same height, he might be an inch or so taller than me. I love him, and height isn't something I really care about.

However, I've had some "friends" who decided to voice their opinion on my partner and say stupid shit like "he'd be more handsome if he was taller" or "I could never be with a short guy."

I guess it's a good thing he's not married to you then isn't it? I'm not friends with those women anymore for obvious reasons. They were 30 something year old mean girls.

I don't have time for that shit.

I didn't think you personally took that picture, but your attitude of "it's perfectly legal" is rather off putting. Something being legal doesn't make it ethical.

Also, taking a pic at Disneyland with strangers in the background is different than taking a pic of a specific stranger for the purpose of humiliating them on the internet. You know this, I know this, most people know this. It cruel and wrong. Not that hard to parse out really.

My husband and I wouldn't be homeowners if we didn't live with my parents for over a decade saving up. Though I understand not everyone has that available to them.

If we'd had to rent an apartment it would've never happened. We also don't have kids, so that's a contributing factor too.

Even with all that, we could only afford a small, one story fixer upper that was an estate sale in the middle of nowhere. It's a house though, and we were very lucky to get it.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. And just because it's technically legal doesn't mean you're not an asshole for doing it.

It called being a decent person.

Oh that's a great idea! I didn't know diatomaceous earth worked on wasps.

I've used it to keep ticks and fleas out of the lawn area my dogs play in, and to get rid of ants.

I don't know why it didn't occur to me to dump it on the wasps, I guess I just thought they were too big? Doesn't it work by puncturing their exoskeleton and basically sucking all their fluids out?(I could be misinformed on that)

Either way I'll go that route if I run into that issue again! Then I don't have to worry about contaminated areas of my lawn.

Thank you for the tip!!!

We would have a much better world to live in, and scientists wouldn't be pressured to only study things that can be immediately monetized.

Have you ever heard of orphan diseases? They're conditions that are so rare that it's not profitable to research them and find cures/treatment because the population of people who need it is so small.

Some countries counter this by using government funding to research rare diseases but the progress is much slower since the funding is limited.

As someone who has a live and let live attitude towards most insects....when I got swarmed by ground wasps while weeding out my garden I had no mercy for them after. Aggressive doesn't even describe how pissed they get.

It was the first time I didn't feel bad about using insecticide. So yeah, the hyper aggressive, stinging ones can fuck right off.

He's pulling out a smaller version of the DARVO tactic. Sexual predators do that quite a bit when they get caught.

Deny, attack, reverse victim and offender.

"The audience was wrong to boo me! They're the bullies!" Meanwhile he completely ignores why he got booed.

Maybe he bit his tongue while yelling incoherently at the podium.

Now it's all swollen and doctors can't treat it because he won't stop talking long enough for them to get a look at it.

I bet I taste delicious!

This is ethical despite it walking the line of taboo. It hurts no one, and if the tissue sample can be extracted at home without causing damage to the donor I see no issue with it.
