Okay this footage makes it look WAY better than the still shots I saw - those made it seem like a quick 1 minute thing that was mostly just making images of the talents and the hololive logo show up, but there was evidently a lot more to it than that!

Edit: RIP to the drone yeeting itself to the ground at 6:13 lmao

Kinda surprised that they didn't include a shot of her on the big screens to go with it: https://youtu.be/ezYlWGg3rdo

The shot also makes me want to throw up a little with the level of advertising, but it's much worse on the Gura-sides of the stadium 🫠

“We are a party that is built on tolerance, acceptance and a diversity of opinion” one talking point read, accompanied by a note in the margin which declared “SAY THIS PHRASE IN YOUR MEDIA INTERVIEWS TODAY OR PENNY AND I WILL NEVER TALK TO YOU AGAIN!”

Australia’s long-standing modern record in the ‘5 Prime Ministers Ashes’ has come to an end, after Kier Starmer won the UK election overnight.

Many believed Australia’s modern-era feat of installing five Prime Ministers in five years and two months – set in 2015 – would never be beaten. But in a stunning performance, Britain smashed the record, achieving the coveted PM Quintuple in four years, eleven months and ten days.

Some are now questioning Rishi Sunak’s unusual decision to call an early election, suggesting he may have been trying to influence the result of the 5 Prime Ministers Ashes. “It does beg the question, did he have money on Britain winning it?” one insider asked. “Why else would he have gone so early? It looks obvious now. If he’d waited a few more months, the record would’ve stayed with Australia. But he wanted to win it”.

It was a little out of left field (inaff) to see her getting pretty into soccer over the past few weeks, but she seems to have had fun! The Austrian bodypaint fanart that she apparently requested might also be a plus depending on your preferences 🫠

In the service of digging into what the Dodgers might be doing to entrench themselves as Japan’s favorite major league team, I am interviewing an animated character.

“I’m a shark-girl from the lost city of Atlantis,” Gawr Gura tells me. “I swam to the surface to hang out with you guys on land about 9,000 years ago.”

Tell me more.

“I’ve been told I have a heart of gold and a head of bone,” she says. “I have a long history of saying and doing ridiculous things on the internet.”

This is the part where I tell you that Gura — she said I could just call her Gura — will be shouting out the traditional “It’s Time for Dodger Baseball!” exclamation at Dodger Stadium on Friday.

Eh, it was reported about the normal amount imo. With the violent lone-wolf types, sometimes media under-reports it to reduce copycat actions (see the famous Newswipe clip).

I'm aware of at least two posts about it from the ABC (national broadcaster)[1][2] and one from local news[3] (paywalled, mirrored here), though admittedly this one has a very local-news angle on it.

Most significantly, the manifesto favorably references Brenton Tarrant, the Australian-born terrorist who in March 2019 murdered 51 people at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. Patten describes himself as having become fascinated by Tarrant’s actions.

There would appear to be copycat elements.

Yeah, hence some under-reporting of the details. There's some fair discussion about reporting / commentary on recent protests there but I don't personally think the comparison to this incident seems fair.

Hard to showcase it without an album - I did what I could to throw into one image, but check the original for the full sizes.
