It'll be interesting to see how this works with ReVanced, which is technically their own app, just stripped of the ads and sponsors. Can't be dinged for adblocking when they're never served up to begin with.

That is a sacrifice I'm not willing to make. Yikes!

Just started using this, and I have to say... wefwef is way better than any of the current apps. By a lot.

But you're here now, and that whole 'understanding the fediverse' part wasn't strictly necessary to get started. Welcome!

Yep, this is the same shit they were trying to pull with the Xbox and Sony out a bunch of commercials of them handing their games to each other to let their friends borrow the game.

This is dumb.

I checked out one of the blocked instances (exploding-heads) a little bit ago - no thanks! Extremist's haven for sure.

It's gonna take a bit. Most are actually 'grieving' a loss right now, and just want to talk about it.

In most functionality, not just the search.

It's okay, I'm using it now, but it definitely feels like a beta app.

Honestly, I think the more reliable curated information will be what I miss the most. I almost always append a Google search with "Reddit" - because the information and format are so much more reliable than the bot populated garbage sites.

Also, niche porn subs. 🫡

Instance transfer (midwest.social)

With mastodon instances, you can transfer your account to other instances. It's that possible with Lemmy?

Jerboa could definitely benefit from an in-app browser so images and links don't push to other apps.

[-] McBinary@midwest.social 5 points 1 year ago

I'm using jerboa currently. Albeit very new to the app, but I'm still a bit put off by the lack of options for personization and features. It also desperately needs an in app browser so all the links stop sending me out of the app.

There is definitely potential here, but leaves a lot to be desired.

DBrady has also mentioned that it effects Relay as well, though he's given no official announcement.

The entire sub is alight with people thanking him for years of an incredible app though.

I would love to see Relay shifted to support Lemmy or Kbin though.
