Good point, unfortunately Storage Share is only hosted in Germany and I wanted to try their Finland option so I have my backup in a different country.

But yes, this is also a way, thanks for pointing it out

Thank you, once I have my NAS at home, I am going to use Tailscale (with Mullvad VPN combination)

Thank you and yes, NAS is my future choice. For now (since I also host my blog on that server) price is not that bad

My path to EU hosted Bitwarden instance with some hiccups and tips

Overall if you want free and open-source password manager you don't have many options - Proton Pass, Bitwarden or Passbolt could be for you

If you are interested in switching from Gmail to EU provider and were hesitating because you weren't sure how to approach it this post is just for you!

I am describing my path where I switched to Soverin email provider and talking some details about desktop and mobile clients.

Soverin is EU based provider with servers in Europe, high privacy and years of experience.

Hi,

for those who have Kindle at home and don't want to use Amazon's Infrastructure I prepared this blog post which describes how to jailbreak your Kindle and install open-source software on it :)

After you are done you will:

  • have KOReader installed
  • be able to load epub books into the Kindle via email
  • create epub books from browser tabs

Post here: Kindle Jailbreak

I believe that if you already have Kindle laying around it could be beneficial to use it without Amazon software instead of buying Kobo/another alternatives. Or course - don't buy a brand new Kindle just to do the jailbreak, you can invest your money to a different company
