I sleeped on it and I decided you're wrong.

She was thrilled about the recent UK court ruling on trans women. I was not. We have different opinions on a lot of topics, with some heated discussions, but this was different. She made a lot of nasty remarks about a woman we both know, who is possibly trans - I don't know, it's none of my business - calling her a man and implying she was a potential rapist. This was beyond an opinion that was different from mine, it was a verbal attack on someone I respect, who's never done her any harm. We haven't spoken since.

My neighbour has celiac disease and he's very grateful to the trendsetters - the previously tiny selection of gluten-free products has ballooned. There's even a fish and chip shop that does a gluten-free day each week when they change the frying oil.

I made some once with pure maple syrup and yes it was kind of under-clumped, but the flavour was off the wall delicious.

Cows always want to know what's going on.

Lol, that was going to be no 3 on my list. I'm at an age where I don't fall over, I "have a fall", and my own stupid feet are a trip hazard. It's going to kill me one of these days, if heart disease or cancer doesn't get me first.

Must be nice having an exact time to work towards!

I didn't realise you could see blood cells at 40x, very interesting. I'm new to microscopy, came to it via beekeeping and have mainly been looking at pollen and bee anatomy.

This is my favourite. I love being able to video chat with my sister in NZ. As someone who grew up with big black bakelite dial phones, it seems like a miracle.

Damn, I love sour yoghurt but it's hard to find. Most commercial yoghurt is too sweet/bland, and I'm too lazy to make my own.

One RingGo to rule them all...

Thrilled to have found a Lemmy knitting group! I'm a sock obsessive, I just love knitting socks, so I've ended up with an staggering amount of "scrap" yarn. The solution - blankets. This is my second Cosiest Memories project and this time I have a Plan. The first one was truly random, with lots of placement errors. When it was finished I did a dark icord edge, and suddenly it was smart!

So for the second one I'm adding an inner border of that same colour and (eventually) will finish with icord. I might even knit some more socks!

I'm a Reddit refugee and in all the years I was there I never made a single post. I'm very much enjoying the Fediverse, especially Lemmy, and thought I'd share my happy place with you all.
