I know I'm in the wrong for missing her text

You are not.

Source: 20 years of a successful marriage.

Your partner has some issues she seems to need to work through. Entertaining her delusions probably won't help her.

It's also the fault of neoliberal governments around the world for actively looking down on middle class people for not caring as much about the climate, refugees and other matters that you can care about when you actually have enough money to have the time to care about those things.

I think a quick look overseas will show you it's migrants, the queer community, women, and to a certain extent any intellectual. Now where have I seen this before.

Lol, have you been following the news much?

Maybe lefties boycotting Tesla will cause MAGAs to go electric... Silver lining?

Immediately lost me at non-tactile keyboard. Who wants this.

My neighbour has a cat called Stevie. Stevie hangs out with us a lot and we look after him when my neighbour is away.

Yesterday we found Stevie very unwell in our garden. We took him to the neighbour and she immediately rushed him to the vet.

She mentioned the vet was 200 dollars which was a big unexpected expense for her. Her son's birthday is on Monday and she won't be able to do anything for his birthday now.

My wife and I are fortunate enough for 200 dollars to not be a lot of money for us and we want to help, but I'm unsure how.

One option would be that we leave her a little card with 100 dollars and write that we wanted to help because we care about Stevie too.

Another idea is we ask her to do some gardening for us (that's her job, and we're too busy to do it ourselves right now).

I don't want her to feel patronised or awkward about any of this... Happy to take insights.

It's definitely cultural as well. I'm European and never struggled to make guy friends. I moved to New Zealand which is very British, and I really struggle here. My guy friends are other immigrants from Europe or South America. However, 80 percent of my friends are female. I love them but at times I definitely do miss having more dudes to hang out with.

Kiwi blokes are super quiet and steer away from serious conversation. It's really hard here.

If people are going to switch, they should really know better and switch to mastodon

I literally can not wait for this. Cycling there is so awful.

Suck a shame they don't do a town centre upgrade. The Grey Lynn shops could use some love.

The 80/20 rule... although it is more 90/10 for me.

For example, being full vegan is awfully hard (at the start), but eating vegan 90 percent of the time is actually super easy.

Biking instead of driving most of the time is much easier than telling yourself to cycle every day.

We often treat things as all or nothing... And sure, I'd love to be perfect at all the things I find important, but doing so puts certain things out of reach because it makes me frustrated and give up on good intentions.

Great read!

I remember me using software called trillian that supported logins to all chat networks, so I could use ICQ, Google, MSN and AOL all at the same time

Went her as a side trip on the Rees Dart track from Queenstown. It was a pretty grueling ascent from the hut, climbing almost 1000 metres on scree and rocks. The 18 km round trip took us quite a while!

This hike (5 days total) was absolutely stunning.

And the worst bit it even happens to non free platforms.

Like Spotify pushing a TikTok style interface, and ramming my home screen full of things I don't care about. Like, you've known me for a decade you should know I'm not into drake and podcasts by conservative men.

Neighbours recently had their home remodelled, which involved them putting new glazing in their bathroom. The glass is not frosted enough and there's a lot to see.

They are large windows too, starting at knee hight. How do I bring this up?

Bonus points if someone can tell me why this community keeps showing my subscription as pending.

I think also we've become so dependent that they can just do whatever the fuck they want.

I've lived in a bunch of countries and FB messenger is the only way for me to keep in touch. FB can do whatever they want to me because I'm never going to persuade a bunch of people to all move to signal or something.

Reddit has communities that simply don't exist on any other platform.

They have the critical mass.
