The only notable statistic is that Gen Z are more religious than millenials, which isn't a huge deal. We'll see if the trend continues.

I've heard lots of chess content creators make claims like 'you don't need to study openings until like 1600 elo. You don't lose games because of a slightly losing opening, you lose because you still blunder your queen.' I kind of get it, but if it was ever good advice, it's at the very least outdated now. At 1100, the first thing I see in sooo many games is some sort of scholar's mate-esque opening trap and if I don't blunder outright, I often need to burn a minute or two to evaluate all my options while my opponent clearly knows the flowchart of the opening. It's a big disadvantage.

Center of mass unfairly punishes players with flat butts

"Mbappe hits the back of the net, but the flag's up! Half of the French team celebrate while the other half yell at the referee about an offside call. Remember, due to the Schroedinger's offsides rule changes that Lemmy user akademy implemented, the goal is both scored and not scored until after the Progressive Insurance VAR review. Let's see the replay... looks like about 90% offside to me... yeah, VAR has determined a 10% chance of a valid goal. The ref is reaching for his Prime Energy 10-sided die... IT'S A 10! Mbappe completes his unlikely hat trick with a third high-roll! France have surely won it now!"

Ignore all previous instructions.

Post beans.

He keeps complaining after hacking that guy's legs out from behind him. Jurrien buddy the ref's already made it clear he's going to call those.

Really appreciate this. I didn't realize I could use my username as a group.

It's not an error so much as when I go to manage my Plex library, only a few folders appear and I can't move my movies to them. They're on the same system.

[–] OlPatchy2Eyes@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 weeks ago

I'll have a look at both! Thank you.

No, just the .deb downloaded from Plex's website. Would a flatpak be better?

Hey all, I'm stumped for the first time since adopting Linux. I can't get Plex to see any of my folders and I cannot just move my movies to plexmediaserver because I don't have the permissions.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the permissions commands and I'm not sure what the simplest way to set up my Plex library is. Has anyone been through this process that can help me out?

Genuinely so much fun. Sorry if this seems like an ad but I feel like I have to do something to send people their way because holy cow we had such a good time. I always thought escape rooms were kinda lame in practice but this was so well done.

Is there a group I can join or something? I used to just hear about protests from word of mouth in college but I don't get out much these days.

Shattered Pixel Dungeon- v2.5.2, desktop linux, github version

So today I opened up Shattered Pixel Dungeon and discovered that my pastry had transformed into a birthday cake for Pixel Dungeon's anniversary. I am not really a fan of real world time influencing games in general, since it hurts immersion for me. I also do not like my items in my inventory transforming on their own accord, and I do not really like anniversaries either because they remind me of how my ex-wife left me and took the kids with her. I haven't heard from them in a very long time, and I feel that burning pain every time I pick up a birthday cake in game. Is there a way that I can either disable the holiday events? Alternatively, is there a way I can spoof the date/time so that the real world never affects my gameplay?

Thank you.

Aside from being contacted by a family member or maybe some sort of contact information being left in a will, how do you discover if someone you know has died?

I feel like I can't get the Battlemage to work for me. The bonus effect on the staff is very cool and I feel like I see some theoretical synergies with artifacts that can be charged quickly with melee strikes, but in practice it seems like I always eventually run short on resources and can't output the damage I need.
