In cooking soup I've found that if you want a noodle soup you should cook the noodles most of the way separately and then add them to each bowl before you serve. There's also nothing wrong with having a huge bowl of broth noodles though!

I make floor pads for the company that builds the playlands. They still exist, in Canada at least. I sent a whole bunch to Puerto Rico after the hurricane, but they were for Burger King.

I won a cardboard boat race. I got a pink flamingo as a prize for first place because they didn't think anyone would finish the race so they didn't actually have a prize for the winner. Everyone else got a new life jacket.

I'm not sure what SQL query is, but I tried to use quickbooks help chat thing and it was changing my words as I typed and churning out gibberish. I thought I was having a stroke. I ended up having to type in a notepad and copy it into the chat. Fucking ridiculous.

I look at people's post history and if they're serial crossposters I block them. So lemmy is pretty much just you and me.

When the same guy makes the same post to 10 different instances I wish lemmy would group them together or somehow amalgamate the 10 disparate conversations together. Lemmy is several orders of magnitude more reposty than reddit which is saying a lot.

Boeing is for sure a shit show and terribly managed, but I don't think they would blatantly kill guys like that. I think it's far more likely that the first guy did kill himself because he figured everybody would think Boeing whacked him and that would do far more damage to the company than his testimony would. Now any news falls under a suspicious gaze and here we are thinking some other guys unfortunate death is due to nefarious deeds.

Or I'm wrong and Boeing has a CIA division ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I liked this guy's dodger so started following him. He's a cruiser but got invited to a regatta and filmed it. I think it gives a great perspective of what a sailboat race is like. I think more cruisers should go racing, it teaches you how to react under pressure and how to use your equipment. And tests your equipment, it's better to break stuff on a Wednesday night than 2 weeks out from port!

Click logo, miss logo enter thread by mistake, click logo again enter community page, scroll right, click block, confirm block at the bottom of the page.

Why can't we block/subscribe from the hamburger menu on the post? Is it this difficult on purpose? Can we edit out a few of those actions? Blocking communities is a huge part of my lemmy experience.
