Ones that could be referenced by every American before they considered casting their vote for him, right?….Right?

The theme of this movie is great. Kirk can cheat death, but not without his friends.

The idea of the iPhone was staring us all in the face: The cellular phone continued to evolve until Jobs and Apple moved the goalposts on what made a phone a phone. An AI-first product doesn’t yet exist and adding AI to a tried and true product (like a lamp) will never make a lamp into a better lamp. It’s just a more complicated lamp. These people are going to have a much harder time than Jobs to make a new product because it has to be truly original. Jobs never made an original product. He just evolved the last version better than anybody else could.

Oops. I basically duplicated your reply. You are spot on the mark.

So long Facebook, see you never, until one day I inexplicably need to use your platform to get updates from my kid's school.

Screw any school or PTA that distributes information by Facebook. That should be outlawed.

And her concern is that children might see detainees in shackles and that’s “hard to process”. Get a life lady.

Why oh why did they place the power barrel connector on the side like that?

You and others have suggested similar theories. Other commenters mention tight production budgets or reusing set pieces.

I don’t get it though. The worn out effect is so over-dramatic and visibly noticeable on this one set/scene but not on any of the others. It’s like they played into making the galley look like a complete wreck but didn’t for the other Enterprise sets. Also the worn effect is not just one part of the galley - it’s the entire thing.

Edit: also they refit the Enterprise in The Final Frontier. How does the galley get that wrecked so quickly but everything else is tip top?

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country is one of my favorite Trek films. It’s a great finale for the original crew and it’s both well done and also not at the same time (I could do a whole thread on the numerous continuity errors within the film, but I digress). One thing I’ve always wondered is why the galley in the Enterprise is so beat up in the scene where the senior crew debates the use of a phaser as part of the crime against the Klingon Chancellor.

So…. Why is the galley so beat up?

RICHMOND, Va. — Several ICE agents had their internal organs forcibly removed during a recent raid on the Slave Pit, home of the extraterrestrial rock band GWAR, confirmed absolutely horrified sources.

“The band was in the middle of our weekly cocaine-orgy/seafood boil when these ICE chodes stormed the Slave Pit claiming we were illegal aliens and threatening to deport us back to our home planet of Scumdoggia,” said GWAR vocalist Blothar the Berserker. “Obviously, these jerkoffs had no idea who they were messing with. I grabbed one of these ICE guys and ripped his spleen out through his dick while the rest of the band went to work on the other ‘agents.’ Then we used their hollowed-out skulls as toilets because anyone stupid enough to fuck with GWAR has to have shit for brains.”

If your friends ask what youre doing, just tell them that youre a French chef.

I have a new Miele steam oven and you can “sous vide” with it. I quote that because you surround the bag/food with steam rather than a bath of liquid water. Not sure if that matters? It seems to work ok, but twice the meat came out under what I wanted, although I’m still learning and making progress with each try.

Who else uses a steam oven and what advice can you share?

My handle gives it away, but I enjoy running. Richmond is beautiful and I have a few places to run that I really enjoy.

Top spot is the Fan. I love the architecture, friendly cars, and people watching.

James River park system is also a favorite. There’s a challenging loop around Forest Hill park that gets me going and then you can head for a quick dip in the river to cool off.

What are your top spots?

Bad news everyone! Nobody is posting and I’m not getting my daily fix of Snu Snu, Mom slaps, Leela eye rolls, and of course opportunities to bite Bender’s shiny metal ass.

Let’s go folks!
