Based... as a ethnic Chinese-Canadian this fight is infinitely important and dear to me, for all that it also fills me with dread.

This. The South Korean military is literally subordinate to the US' (on paper, "only in times of war"). Maybe they could break free, but until then the idea the US wasn't involved in the motions of declaring and enforcing martial law, etc. is pretty laughable.

Pretty much, honestly while it may be a long slide down (or not) I expect this country to become the next Argentina in our lifetimes if shit doesn't explode (pretty much necessary to save us from rentier-oligopolistan)

What an absolutely beautiful smile. It must be protected 🫡

Must admit, for all the tactic was cursed I can't claim any pity on Pavlou, maybe his mother (if she isn't as wretched as the son she shat out). Definitely kick-out-of-party material but if this were the only questionable thing about Hinkle I can't claim I'd not salute him and give a grin as he were on the way out.

Agreed, if it must be (actual) liberty or death, there's only one option (though the entire world other than the west is constantly seeking peace, and whatever conflict happens is entirely and infinitely the west's fault). Some things are worse than death, and the west has proven time and time again to offer exactly that, a slow death with no dignity, no humanity, no decency given.

I hope if the world does head down this path- hell, even if it doesn't- that a hell of some sort exists, and if not that future humans or other sentients will create it. "Eternal torment" is more mercy than the ghouls of empire deserve.

I get it sucks that they are walling us off from there users, however we cannot do much

Does it suck? Personally it sucks more to breathe the same air or exist in the same spaces as these libs. Let them wall themselves off, eventually they will be walled off from the vast majority of humanity that is looking on in disgust at them- and then hopefully in time that wall will close in, and those who cannot develop the human decency to leave their wretched spaces will go straight to the dustbin of history.

Agreed, liberals always are a direct enemy of the left- and not merely a "lesser evil" to fascists, but equal and with no meaningful difference from fascists (which just happen to be their mask-off honest selves).

Kindred Spirits on the Roof is an absolutely cozy yuri VN! And for a more- interesting one I have to infinitely reccomend Seabed, which is a kinetic (linear) novel dealing with- mystery and grief to best explain it without spoilers (I think). Seabed is so absolutely lovely, I played it on the Switch and had to get it on Steam as well and- IDK, it just sticks with me even years later.

We Know the Devil is another wonderful, if short, queer VN.

Faerie's Bargain: The Price of Business is also peak goblin merchant energy and queer AF.

And Where the Water Tastes Like Wine is awesome as well, with working-class and (accurate history to what I recall? anyways touching on the ugly subjects so CW maybe) Americana IMO.

CWsWith major CWs as well for SA/misogyny/etc- I have to reccomend Analogue: a Hate Story.

Other than that have to agree with 999... played it literally over a decade back as a kid but it was fun. I have a few of the other games mentioned here on my to-do list or wishlist.

Others on my to-do list (good enough I already own no less) among many others would include: Amelie, Heaven Will Be Mine, Scarlet Hollow, Mamiya, I was a Teenage Exocolonist, Lay a Beauty to Rest: the Darkness Peach Blossom Spring, and Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk. And AI: the Somnium Files, which my partner really enjoyed from my library, though I've not played yet 😅

And while you probably also know them already, I gotta recommend the Ace Attorney and Monster Prom series. And while it's not quite a VN, I have to infinitely recommend Disco Elysium (but you've also probs heard of it)

Thank you Xi!!!

I saw this mentioned in Ray MacGovern's recent interview with Dialogue Works, and had to look it up and see if anyone had covered it here; "somehow" it has been largely ignored by western media. 😂

(EDIT)- changed "troops" in the title to "ships." I messed up, brainfart- it was ships. Troops naturally included.

I saw @ledlecreeper27@lemmygrad.ml 's post and wound up making a larger version of it (with my own changes)

Update- wound up making a expanded version

and a notion of how it would look amidst a better world (not overly serious, borders subject to change)
