If the quote seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Photograph/log everything you pack, then photograph/log again as you unpack.

Expect to wait for your things so long you wonder why you even bothered.

«Now that I’m older, I can disregard the safety of others on the road without consequence” isn’t the brag you think it is.

The boner the internet has for Firefly means I’ll get dragged for this, but The Expanse was by far the better story overall.

That being said, I enjoyed Firefly a lot. But the world building, character arcs, political intrigue, etc was just immensely more immersive in The Expanse. Especially goes if you read the entire series. The show was great, the books were also great and well, expanded, the story. Highly recommend.

Your body starts breaking down long before you’re ready or expected, despite every warning you heard your whole life.

80% song lyrics, 10% how I would respond if I wanted to invite conflict, 5% random shit, 5% schemes/ideas.

True true… but it was situated like, fully reclined. One idea was that knuckleheads placed it there as a prank, bro. But the other, probably more reasonable, is your idea.

Memory loss/amnesia. It works as a plot device but how often it shows up in media makes it seem like, well that’s what happens when you get bonked on the head. Amnesia is actually pretty rare.

CPR/shocking: I was so grateful that Dr. Robby called this out on The Pitt, you can’t shock asystole (flatline). Well, you can but it’s good for fuck all. I get why CPR is done poorly, if you do it for real you’re probably gonna break ribs. But they could do it as fast as it’s supposed to go at least. The dramatic pushes 3 seconds apart is also good for fuck all.

When I was 16 I swerved to miss a recliner in the roadway (yeah you read that right) and ended up careening off the road down an embankment. As soon as I was stopped at the bottom, I was convinced I had to clear the area because obviously the car was about to explode. It did not. So anyway that was my first and worst car accident. Why there was a recliner in the roadway is a mystery I will never solve.

It takes time to become the Hawkeye of any workplace. For me, I feel like I currently am, but it was probably the first 2 of now 5 years of keeping my head down, listening but not contributing to gossip, apologising and correcting “mistakes” that were pointed out, saying yes to extra shifts, etc. But after a while I became someone relied on by all as a truth teller and a solid employee. I sometimes even tell people when explaining my workflow/training, “but I do what I want”. I can always justify my actions even if there is another or zero policy, and my opinion is generally valued. A blessing and a curse, as now the expectations on me are simply higher than for others in similar roles. But, I do what I want.

That’s why I always tell my dog on walks “Crows are Bros” and never let him bother them.

I think the situation from Defending Your Life or Eternity seems pretty neat for an afterlife, but realistically I think that the best we can hope for a “heaven” is living on in good memories from those we leave behind.

Being reincarnated into a well-loved house cat would be pretty dope too.

But ultimately I think our consciousness just stops and we return to the same state we didn’t exist in, before we existed.

No one has a broken webcam in 2026. Especially if ahes supposedly a company CEO, like that is a solved-today problem if it was ever true.

Also unless your dad is also loaded, there’s not a ton of incentive for a successful woman in her early forties to start a romance with someone nearly twice her age, I mean that may sound awful but I’m a woman and that’s just pragmatic. A long distance gamble on a set of old balls? If she’s just in to older men, I’m sure there are plenty in a 10 minute vicinity, she doesn’t need to fw men on the other side of the country.
