It's at a base a 5/5 flyer for 5 that deals 2 to oppo's face when it comes it. Not bad, very good in limited as a removal check.

If you think Alien 3 is a worse film than Prometheus, I think your opinion on Alien films is invalid.

Gathering = destroy artifact/enchantment 🤷🏾

Really? I think essence scatter in limited formats has been getting better and better as creatures go up in power. We just saw essence capture be pretty good in OTJ, even if Blue itself wasn't.

And having the option to counter a game redefining non-creature spell is good.

It is a very hard commitment to Blue though.

I do like the cost for activating costing only 5 rather than 7 or 8.

Decent all round removal for a removal light food deck. Though since BG looks to care most about food, they shouldn't be that removal light most of the time.

Edit: and playing this on turn two doesn't look like where you want to be. Probably a clunker, but has a home in one deck that Sam Black finds that counts on getting them late.

I'm glad this is uncommon because the strictly worse this from LCI was plenty good enough.

Decent flavour text that helps build up the world and matches the art without being glib or a Wedon-quip. I love it.

Also, makes all your paying offspring costs replace the card. Not a bad little go wide payoff.

This one being only two mana, that's not much of an issue here. For all the 4 and 5 mana racoons, I'm a little more skeptical. Maybe if there is enough ramp that you can skip 2 or 3 drops and play a 4 on 3 consistently... Rabbits and mice both look fairly aggressive, plus big things is a good way to 1 for 1 and end up falling behind.

Like the others so far have said, if government is to justify its continued existence it needs to be for the good of all the people, not just those with capital.

It still implies a level of hierarchy and control, which isn't good and will tend to lead to centralisation and corruption because power tends towards collecting more power.

But if it could be making life on the ground better for all the people, (food, shelter, education, preventing the environmental destruction that private ownership has bought) not at the expense of people within or without it's borders (even that one child in the secret basement), them it'd be a damn sight better.

But for 2 years less than this card will in standard... Let's see if they print another exile wrath before then.

I had totally missed that it only worked for spells... I'm now much less happy with this mechanic.

Their last hurrah! (lemmynsfw.com)

Which decks leaving with rotation this autumn are you sad to see go?

For me there are two big ones: Rakdos Anvil and Mono-Blue Cauldron Combo.

Rakdos Anvil has been able to turn into Mardu Warleader's Anvil, which can kill out of nowhere with Ojer Axonil. It's a lot of fun to play, but yes not a tier one deck at the moment. Gets wrecked by Temporary Lockdown, unfortunately; but still does alright if not great.

Mono-Blue Cauldon Combo is, in my opinion, more consistent than the GU Culdron Combo that remains. It can be surprisingly aggressive as a plan B in case oppo is focused on disruption, and with new additions from MKM (Forensic Researcher) and OTJ (Harrier Strix) is more powerful and consistent than even. Does very well on ladder, but is a bit of a hassle to play on Arena, because infinite mana isn't handled well at all. That might be why it seems unexpected and steals a lot of wins. Doesn't actually get wrecked by Temporary Lockdown, because you can bounce it at end of turn and get all the combo pieces back and then just go off.

But what about all you other Standard Appreciaters? What decks are you sad to see go at rotation?

These decks... (lemmynsfw.com)

Anyone manage to win with either of the artifact decks (Token Resistance and Artifact or Fiction)?

The others all seem to go hugely over the top, or just trample over them each time I try to play them.

New reach effect in arena to make it very obvious.

Secret reach is now instant speed tricks only. =( (Though I've attacked into more than my share of reaching cyclops.)

BBRR 5/5 rare legendary dragon scorpion rogue

Flample (flying, trample).
Sac 3 creatures: put a creature card from your hand onto the battlefield. Activate at sorcery speed, and only once per turn.

Kinda underwhelming, despite the somewhat unique ability. Still, 5/5 flample for 4 is very good.

Edit: totally assumed the card was mythic, that'll teach me to post when I'm tired. This is much more influential in limited then.

Uncommon land - desert

T: add C.
3: target creature can't block this turn, activate only as a sorcery.

Plot 1R

Finally a plot card that looks like it makes back some of the tempo. Maybe we'll see some more in the days to come.
