Just make a TV series of adaptions of Pinter plays.

They're basically all bottles, with a heavy sense of meance and "off"ness.

Oh, and Inside No. 9, which finished last year is all self contained stories with tight cast in often a single set. And it is one of the best pieces of TV ever.

Sadly/Unsurprisingly no-one goes from peasant to lord, short of being family of Jean of Arc.

I don't think there's another case of peasant to upper nobility in a single generation.

While true, it was next to impossible to keep track of people - there were no borders or division.

If a lord was offering a better deal (or their old Lord was too despotic), serfs could and would pack up and leave and there wasn't much their old lord could do about it.

The other part of people moving to the towns was inventions of new tools such as better looms and improvements in metallurgy to make more precise tools.

Yes, that they don't/didn't have enough freedom is always a legitimate reason to invade an occupy a nation.

I'm only down with the "Pluto is a planet" crowd, if they rep Ceres and at least one of the others (Eris, Hamuhea, Makemake, or one of the others I forget) too.

So there's no version of the solar system where there's only 9 planets. It's 11+ lads.

If only there was some way to bring the physical infrastructure without the misogynistic social structures...

Sane use of hyperbolic naming, helps show your commitment to the safety of women.

I often forget to flip innocent/criminal when clicking when you do it with the clue, so feeling pretty chuffed to have gotten the perfect solve.

Being doing them for getting on for 2 months now. One of my favourite daily puzzles at the mo.

I didn't say don't take him back to be processed.

I just don't see the need for him to be cuffed once the police know it's a skipping rope and he's no threat.

As for "no big deal", it's also about optics and respect. A lot of law enforcement techniques are about imposing lack of personhood on someone and by limiting those impositions it shows that the individual isn't a threat and is being treated as something other than a criminal.

A troubled teen runaway cosplaying as his dead teen crush cosplaying as himself cosplaying as a travelling actor cosplaying as a professional torturer?

Seems to be true, which since The Canary is a UK publication and would have to face British libel laws if not isn't a surprise... But due to magnitude I had to check... Here are some I found before I decided to go do something else.

But processed with the guy in cuffs?!

This is the sort of stuff that shows our bobbies are becoming ever more like Americans' pigs.

One could certainly make the case that the two missiles into the sea near Cyprus were unintentional misses, which shows an attempt to preemptively attack. But even that was earlier the same day it all happened,

The strikes into other Middle Eastern countries, seem, especially early on, to be primarily targeting fossil fuel facilities, US military locations, and airfields.

So, at least to me - any assistance we provide to the US is aiding their war of aggression and belligerence, which is a repetition of Iraq. The British people deserve better than to be the back up attack dog of the US bully.
