Many people misunderstand. It's not that Orange Cats have a single braincell. It's that all orange cats on the planet share a single braincell among them. At any given moment only one orange cat may be using the braincell.

AFAIK it ends up on the ground, and in the ground water. Which means that it could contaminate drinking water if it's not treated properly. It will enter rivers and lakes, and snow and everywhere else that water gets.

It's a fork bomb. It exponentially forks processes in the background in an attempt to consume all CPU cycles.

Rogue*. I'm not usually that guy, but this particular typo makes me see red.

One of my Cats is officially named Cat. The other's called Later.

The series shit the bed with the online only bullshit with small maps, and then Cities Skyline came along shortly thereafter to steal their lunch.

But what, practically, is the difference? If more and more websites use shit that only works in Chrome or Chromium based browsers, the effect is the same. The web doesn't work as well for Firefox users.

Oh look, yet another fucking post complaining about new users posting about their experiences switching to Linux. This should be a welcoming community welcoming to all Linux users new and old.

We used to blow tobacco smoke up people's asses, literally.

towing the company line

Just an FYI, it's toeing in the idiom, not towing. Thought you might want to know.

I got the impression that it wasn't exactly unprompted and that they had been being overwhelmed with take down requests. Like it or not, Lemmy instances do have to follow the laws of their local jurisdiction. Which means responding to take down requests when applicable. The post suggested that until they had tools to better manage that, they had to block them, but have unblocked them now which implies that they have those tools.

I somehow got into a state where Lae'zel couldn't be interacted with. I'll put the rest in a spoiler tag for those that don't want to know the details.

spoiler

Lae'zel woke me up during the night and challenged me to a fight because she couldn't stop thinking about me. She was down bad, lol. Anyway, I agreed and killed her dead, then revivified her. Well, that broke her. From then on I couldn't talk to her, couldn't interact with her at all, and she wouldn't join combat.

When I got into a fight, she remained outside of the fight and could act with impunity. I was literally able to take control of her and go up to each enemy and kill them dead without using any turns. This is obviously very broken. So beware.

Luckily, I was able to resolve it by loading a save from before the fateful event, and only lost an hour of progress.

Lemmy doesn't do spoilers the same way that Reddit does. Sync appears to still be using the reddit style of spoilers, i.e. >!spoiler!<, however on the web-ui those are visible to users, and the spoilers that web users use in the editor which look like this:

descriptionspoiler goes here

Aren't hidden in Sync. Consider this a PSA for users of Sync that may want to avoid spoilers or avoid spoiling others. Personally, I'd like to see >!spoiler!< supported more widely on Lemmy, but in the meantime this should probably be addressed in Sync.

Didn't Ubisoft make a statement afterwards that they would not be deleting accounts that have game purchases?

The title is a bit click-baity. Even the article acknowledges that Ubisoft has stated they won't be deleting accounts that have purchased games. That's no excuse not to take precautions, of course, but it feels a bit like fearmongering, and the world has far too much of that these days.
