Having everything isn't really possible either way, systemd won't necessarily reimplement all daemons in one place. It's not a good idea in terms of architecture anyway. If you want to configure everything the same way, check out Nix.

I'm not a huge fan of Poettering's ideas either way but integrity/verified boot is something I've always missed from the Android world. It's not meant to reduce freedom but rather empower security, something that's kind of weak when it comes to the Linux desktop.
It's more that they dislike how it's done usually, not always the UX itself.
