Macron is managing to exceed his previous levels of fascism to a point that is remarkable. In speeches recently:

  • He said that France needed a "demographics rearmament" - meaning "make babies, you fucks".
  • He said that "order goes along with progress, authority with emancipation, they're inseparable, it's always been true".
  • He wants all schoolchildren to wear uniforms.

Also he recently said in Davos that France would make it much harder to obtain unemployment benefits - that's after a battery of similar measures those past few years that already made it incredibly harder. They also opened a denunciation online platform where employers can signal when someone unemployed refused a new job, in order to eventually remove their unemployment benefits.

She cannot believe that an innovator in mass murder would have tried to protect the Jews and other supposed subhumans his troops rounded up. She checks the footnotes. The claim is attributed to War of Extermination, a compendium of academic essays originally published in 1995. Coffman knows the book is legit, because she happens to have a copy on loan from the library. When she goes to the cited page, she finds a paragraph that appears to confirm all the Wikipedia article’s wild claims. But then she reads the first sentence of the next paragraph: "This is, of course, nonsense."

Also, it's not that relevant but as far as I know it was never described officially as a rave for "peace". Even old promotional material doesn't.

They described it as "a journey of unity and love" as well as, I quote, a celebration of "friends, love and infinite freedom".

A celebration of infinite freedom a few hundred meters from an open air prison

Imagine, you're Palestinian, born in a refugee camp, your family is from Asqalan. You managed to kill several colonizers but you're caught, and you're condemned to life in prison. You spend 22 years behind bars before being liberated in a prisoner exchange, and then after a few years you're elected head of Hamas in Gaza, and manage to project - then and for years - the image of a pragmatic, someone ready to collaborate. Disgusting words like "reconciliation" are bandied about.

Meanwhile you're implementing the greatest Palestinian military action in 50 years, completely secretly.

King shit

Somewhat related, in Civ 4, depending on the ideology you choose, you get a specific related wonder to build

When you pick "fascism", the wonder is Mt. Rushmore

Jesus, that thread

Their “anti-Orientalism” (read as pro-tankie) policy has been known for a good while.

kombucha-disgust

Lemmy.ml was always garbage and I blocked almost every community there because most of their posts are about capitalism or landlords

100% this person is a landlord

this really upsetting since they have c/technology and c/privacy communities. Someone might post something like high-tech surveillance of actvtists or Uyghurs

lmao this is from the thread's OP

Lemmy dot ml is like, one step away from becoming another Lemmygrad.

inshallah

A lot of those are pretexts for defederating I think

What rubs them the wrong way is our position on various issues (despite them being far more deeply argued and sourced than the paltry answers we usually get)

Also, admittedly and to a lesser degree, likely the fact we're numerous and terminally online so anytime something dunkable is posted even the small subset of online hexbear users that see it appear on their feed and interact must look like an army to them

We're just terminally online and upvote each other

Though I'll admit those stats here are a bit suspicious
