French foreign legion does not mean they are mercenaries, they are French troops under contract as professional soldiers who fight for the chance of French citizenship who take orders directly from the French president. This is how they’ve operated for well over a century. The reason they’re called the foreign legion is because anyone can join regardless of birth nation, but they mainly pull from Europe, America, and French colonies. They are not to be confused with the Ukrainian foreign legion who operate as mercenaries.
The French foreign legion are not mercenaries, they are soldiers fully in support of the French colonial project (many of them unfortunately are subjects of French colonialism as well) who are looking to gain French citizenship through military service. This is important because if they were simply mercenaries then Russia could attack them without thinking about it. That is not the case here, these are French troops wearing the French flag engaging in offensive operations under direction of the French president. This is a big step even though it’s a small number of troops. They are being sent to Ukraine because these troops were pushed out of Africa which is where France gets most of their uranium for their energy security. That is partially the reason France outspoken about sending troops.
Roger waters is probably the most outspoken left wing musician from that era still. I’ve heard Geezer Butler is also left wing, but he’s not very outspoken. Punched plenty of Nazis though so that’s cool.
You understand that America built its huge expansive empire before the invention of the hypersonic missile correct? There is not going to be another empire in the way America did it literally ever. America may very well be the only nation in the history of humanity to have built its empire literally uncontested by any other nation on earth. Every other nation was blown to bits and the ones that weren’t blown to bits were abysmally poor, and even the ones that were abysmally poor were also blown to bits. Could Russia figure out a way to build something like America a different way? Maybe, but that’s pretty unlikely.
The thing I’m noticing about trades is that the most successful businesses are the ones with multiple licenses under the same brand, so they’ll be an electrician, plumber, hvac whatever else all at the same time. It’s becoming more difficult to learn a single trade and then open your own business and make it big. Way easier for a company to go on say an electrical call and then ask the homeowner if they would like their AC checked while they’re there for example.
The IDF run with triple XP bonuses on at all times.
I’m sure parts of it are still blasted waste. A lot of industrial buildings were in Mariupol and I’m sure they will take time to rebuild, but it is crazy how quickly apartments and shit have gone up. If my town was obliterated by world war 3 I would expect to live amongst rubble for 20 years at least.
Millions of peasants whose idea of war probably more aligned with Napoleonic styles of war than anything like what they actually ended up experiencing . It’s a little different when you can see what modern war looks like in 4k.
The best places to shoot in Texas is on someone’s land. The problem is finding someone with land willing to let you shoot on it.
This is an overstatement. These places are standing because they literally fought and WON against the US. Give them the credit they deserve.
