I get confused at first glance any time I read: anti-[anything] critics.

Remember the good old days where doing a Save-As immediately brought up the file explorer dialog?

Just the nudes. Nothing else.

Out of curiosity, of those that are getting infected multiple times, have you been keeping up with your vaccinations? Fully or partially, or not at all?

Reminds me of that part in The Expanse where they irradiate everyone on the station to activate the protomolecule.

So, watch out for that.

Anyone else come from a regular Pixel 6 over to a Pixel 8 Pro notice that the games are a bit choppier?

I suppose it's the higher resolution.. but you would think that the increase in processing power would have been in lockstep with the increase in resolution. Or maybe it's something else. Ideas?

Edit: huh, noticing scrolling stuttering here in Lemmy Sync, where I didn't notice it on the Pixel 6 😳

I'm looking to install some cutoff switch on this 3-pin connector. It almost looks like a PC 4-pin 12v connector, but it actually connects to a Broan CRV motor. Specific model is the L150L.

I originally wanted a ventilator with a timer, but they installed an inline CRV (intake only) with a crazy 150CFM for a tiny 480sqft suite. Massively overkill, and loud. I'd prefer to put this on a timer, or even better would be a smart switch control. But at the very least a manual switch would be great.

For now, and for the last two years, I just have this unplugged, as shown in the image. The passive ventilation on the connected ducting has been more than enough to turn the air around. But sometimes it'd prefer to enable the intake for a time. I just can't have it on all the time because the air turnaround is nutty, not to mention the blast of cold air in the middle of winter.

Any ideas for a switch that fits this connector, or a DIY switch, and/or something to hook to a timer, OR smart switch somehow?

Periwinkle Question (lemmy.world)

Noob here. I haven't planted any perennials, except a peony. Until this year, with a row of periwinkle that I'm attempting to grow up both sides of a lattice. It's working out pretty awesome. They're maybe 20 inches tall, weaving back and forth through horizontal slats.

I want to keep the party going next year, but I'm unable to find out if periwinkle will continue growing in the new year, or if the whole stem dies and has to grow from scratch. I'm aware this question totally unveils how ignorant I am about flowers. Hahah

I can't stand the web app. Sync is fantastic!

Plastics make up only about 4% of the total oil production.

I'd say oil extraction needs to be reserved for that, long term (hundreds of years). Medium term, reserved for industrial, space, commercial transportation, and rural use only. I cannot believe we're in the year twenty-fucking-twenty-three and we still have non-commercial ICE vehicles driving around metro areas in developed nations.

I was going to ask in a full post, but as a comment on this topic would be better: what kind of modifiers would we type in when we want to narrow a web search scope to the fediverse? Like, it's easy to just add 'reddit' to any query, that instantly cuts out all the BS. Hoping there's some magic keyword in the metadata in the ActivityPub guts.

Someone feel free to start a full post on this, if you figure it's warranted.

Still almost exactly half the crash rate of human-only drivers. Therefore, we should ban human-only driving.
