New name,eh? (self.luanti)
submitted 2 weeks ago by Winco to c/luanti@sopuli.xyz

I thought the package name got garbled at first. "Why is the minetest logo next to a package I don't recognize?" Well, I just found the forum post this morning. Personally, I'm not a fan of the new name. I'm sure I'll get used to it in time, but it's just a little hard to say. Feels like a word someone is trying to convince you is real in a game of scrabble. "C'mon man, C++sknyt is totally a real word. Trust me bro!" Oh well. Just my thoughts.

Board games with friends and family. My brother rotates hosting board game night with his friends and it's great fun.

Ah, clever.

The toilet paper looks to be a bit of a reach. Not too far, but just far enough to be annoying.

"For me to support these versions, I would likely lose money because the user base is just not there (both of these platforms account for roughly 0.6% of all my Steam wishlists)."

That's not a good metric to go off of bud. If I had backed this, I'd be feeling some kind of way right now. Unfortunately, as a Linux user, this is just par for the course. Devs promising a Linux Version only to cancel it later happens often enough that it's almost expected at this point. Blech!

Me, give up? Never!

Hiya folks. I know the community isn't all that big, but is anyone else having issues logging in? I've tried logging in with both mudlet and plain old telnet, but I get a connection refused, no matter which port I use.

Strangely, I can see the owner, Steve is logged in from the who's on, on the site. My best guess would be maintenance?

Thanks for keeping it up Steve!

Love me some minetest! There's quite a few good games for it. I'd recommend:

-Exile -Hades Revisited -Nodecore

-Mineclone 2 (if you really want minecraft)

I remember those. Pretty fun to play with. Can't for the life of me remember the name of the tree. Suppose I could look it up though.

[-] Winco 24 points 10 months ago

Huh, I was wondering why I hadn't seen the actual name brand in a while...

Alright, I stopped scrolling. Now what? Do I write a disapproving letter to my local politician?

[-] Winco 14 points 11 months ago

Holy smokes! Imagine if there was some genuine Great Value TM napkins in the pocket.

It is possible. I'm following a mud community over on kbin. If I remember right, you follow by putting it's url into the search. Should pop up.

AIOE missing in action. (self.classic_usenet)

A little while back, AIOE was my go to for news groups, but it disappeared. I remember seeing something about a disaster at the server site or something. I guess I should remove it from thunderbird, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Can't find any info on what happened, but by it's continued absence, I figure it's never coming back. Rest in peace AIOE.

Good morning/afternoon mud community. I just wanted to make a post telling everyone working on mudlet how much I appreciate their hard work. You guys are awesome!

I love all the work that's gone into the mapper especially. Thanks for not axing the built in irc chat, as I don't use discord. It's also a really cool feeling seeing a new mud get added to the profile list after an update.(We have achaea, but are we going to get starmourn at some point? Actually, couldn't I just make a pull request? Hmm.)

Keep up the good work fellas!

Hello everyone. I'm glad to see an alternative to the subreddit. Unless my settings are somehow wrong, I believe this is the first post here. I don't play muds all that often as I've been busy doing other things, but one of these days I'll hop back in and get it figured out, starting with mudlet. (Heh, I've been saying it for a while, but... yeah, I'll just have to force myself to sit down one of these days.)

Looking forward to hearing from all you fine folks.

Edit: Oh before I forget, greetings from lemmy!

Bright Days Ahead (self.cataclysmdda)
submitted 1 year ago by Winco to c/cataclysmdda@lemmy.ml

Really glad to see a lemmy community for one of my favorite games. This was the onus for me to finally make an account here. It's exciting to get in on the ground floor for a new community. Looking forward to it.

I guess, I'll start with the story of my first foray into playing a traitor character(mycus). He wasn't much for writing and didn't really get along with people. Then the cataclysm happened and he found himself wandering. He came across a curious fungal structure with some berries near it. He was hungry, so he partook. Then, overnight he knew what he had to do. He had to find more. (I thought it would take longer to find the rest, but in a bit of an anticlimax I found both a bloom and a tower right in either side of a small city. Huh.) After that, our guide was complete. We decided to wait in an old radio tower for some time until our local guide has become better adapted. From there we paid a visit to the evac center. They don't know it yet, but we are going to work well together. The mycus must grow. (Yeah, I thought the run would last longer, so I turned off the no-fungl-spread mod and covered the evac center in spores. Heheh!)

Later folks.
