I think most of us have been there at sometime in our past. It is difficult, for sure. I have had to take classes on how to do small talk in order to find ways through this, because I need to be able to work my way through these situations for my job. It is tricks like - you mentioned the guy works construction - so ask him what type of things he is building. How did he get into that position. Is construction what he has wanted to do his whole life, or how did he land that type of job. You need to ask questions that will provoke another person's opinions (whether you like their answers or not) and usually they start to spill their personal stories quite easily. Share a few anecdotes when you can to keep things moving forward. But I agree - it is difficult and very uncomfortable.

As the owner of a pizza place for several years (we serve both fresh and canned) I can easily say Canned is the choice of most people.

I use it almost exclusively. It's not without its faults, but it does better for me than pressing individual keys.

Also, it is 98, not 68. :)

As with any controversial subjects, it is bound to get rowdy at times.

I like being busy and helping others. Providing a safe and structured community makes it better for everyone and if I can help with that, it would be a bonus for me.

I'm not exactly sure what type of answer you want for this one. Mods delete posts that are inappropriate. Ban people if absolutely necessary. Remind others of the rules and allow them to correct their actions. I'm fine with all of this and much more if needed.

I don't hold politial views against anyone. I have my own and don't want people to hold them against me because they disagree with them either. If I am here to perform a job/role, that is my #1 priority, and I will do so without any of my own beliefs causing issues.

I believe the confusion lies in the word "holes" when you are thinking about openings or exits. Just my 2 cents.
