It's so frustrating because any attempt at discussing the amazing things China is doing, albeit imperfect, is just shut down immediately because China Bad for harming "our" country's hegemony. Or, sometimes I talk to someone and they aren't outright hostile but extremely skeptical and say something dismissive like "I like to do my own research, I'll look into that." Yeah, sure you will, and I'm sure you'll do world class research on the subject, you fucking moron. What's that going to look like? A Wikipedia search? A reddit search, ironically? God forbid you have a conversation in good faith with someone and be open to learning something.
