It goes beyond trashy. He's riling up his base with a show of violence and normalizing bloodsport. This is an intentional shift in social norms. His base laps it up-- government that's fun like a wrestling match!!??-- and it takes the place in our public life that we had reserved for sober discussion of our nation's wellbeing and handing it over to gleeful violence.

It's not "UFC bad," this is "drinking whiskey for breakfast," the context matters. They are exterminating their enemies and it's going to get worse.

There's a reason they call it TERF island

Just for fun I tried reproducing this with chatgpt and it consistently messes up aligning the light beam with its illuminated patch no matter what I try. They always fail on the weirdest details

There's also those who did everything in their power to vote but had their suffrage effectively revoked by the efforts of the Republican party

My kid loves roblox because its controls are pretty much completely ideal for her ipad and apple pencil

Roblox is entirely unplayable to me because its control schemes inevitably break all my millennial expectations and I don't have great internet connectivity at home anymore. It hurts me and makes me angry, lol. ANY game that properly works with an Xbox controller is superior for my personal experience because of decades of that paradigm. Touchscreen controls are death and other control schemes are second class citizens in the modern landscape

I personally hope it gets bad enough fast enough for Elon to decide to go personally pioneer his Mars base. I would give anything for a live feed of him trying to survive a hundred million miles away from the rest of us

Voters aren't his problem. His problem is there's no way daddy ever puts Kendall in charge of the company, ever.

Yeah it's definitely not great (any kind of nuclear response is truly bonkers, genie out of the bottle shit) but if I understand correctly they at least aren't talking about glassing the country the way the headline implies

Edit: just still beyond madness btw, precedent leading to dominos falling pretty quick after that, not sanewashing at all, just... maybe a slightly slower slide into apocalypse than instantaneous global thermonuclear war so... yaaaay

The primary reporting in the guardian says they aren't talking about it explicitly, and have denied it, but that the depth of the bunkers in question implies tactical nukes would need to be used for the strike they're discussing to be effective
