I really hated this episode for this reason. I hate the thought experiment of "what if we found a planet where everyone practices eugenics and so therefore it's racist to be against eugenics".

Like if the rest of the world had found an isolated Nazi Germany, would it have been discriminatory and prejudiced to be against their practices? To not let them into the military? Of course not

Like why even write that plotline? Why are the writers choosing to legitimize eugenics like this, like it ever could be neutral or good and not horrific? I'm unwilling to entertain the idea that there's a good way to do it, just as I'd be unwilling to entertain a fictional society that showed slavery in a positive light

You can turn off the ability to see NSFW posts in your profile. It's not ideal since some NSFW isn't porn, but I'd rather miss a handful of things than spend all day blocking porn and fetish subs

Do you think cows consent to humans doing things like this

Do you think cows consent to humans shoving their entire arm up the cow's vagina to artificially inseminate them and then steal their baby?

Do you think cows consent to having their udders fondled by humans and strapped into painful milking machines?

You support rape. Rape apologists get no say on what is or isn't misogynistic

Personhood is political. You choose not to extend it to nonhumans for political reasons, namely you profit from human supremacy and don't want to change the system in which you benefit from nonhumans being chattel property, doing slave labor for you, getting raped and murdered so you can have treats, forced to bend to the will of their human oppressors for your entertainment.

It's plant based capitalism.

Tyson hopes to undercut the vegan market that already exists by making sure that money goes to them and not to vegan companies. That money will be and has been used to continue their core business of hurting animals. It's portfolio diversification with the end goal of killing smaller companies and achieving monopoly in their sector. They don't care about animals, they care about profits.

Tyson as a company also lobbies for ag-gag laws that aim to turn vegan activists into criminals and felons and keep the world from seeing what they (Tyson) do to animals and the environment. When you buy from them, they take that money and use it to fund anti-vegan and anti-environment legislation (not to mention anti-welfare legislation for their victims)

As an extreme example, do you think the US military and Nazi Germany had the same amount of Nazis?

I'm on your side for the rest of the post, but this example isn't great imo. The US is absolutely a Nazi country, they were just more successful in their settler genocide. They literally have the largest prison pop in the whole world, full of impoverished people of color who are literally enslaved. Many in prison are sterilized against their will. They have for generations killed millions and millions of people abroad to stop communism and immiserate and expropriate those populations. Like I could go on, but Nazi Germany was inspired by the US. They even said the US went a little too far. The US won the war and is the most powerful country on the planet, so they wrote the history and they control the media narrative, so we can pretend like the Germans were worse

I actually don't agree that vegetarians are halfway to our side when they know that milk and eggs and such greviously harm animals but chose to harm anyway. Especially when they go out of their way to scold and silence activists. Like OP, whose response to Dairy is Scary was to scold me, instead of feeling horror at the terrible suffering they cause to cows. Their comm also prohibits "proselytizing" as if veganism is a baseless religious movement and not a political struggle for animal liberation.

The only vegetarians who are halfway there are those who are naive and once they learn about the harm animals endure to get those products, they go vegan. I used to be vegetarian, and I was horrified when I learned other vegetarians were literally keeping information from me. It's fucked up to support that. It certainly doesn't help animals

Plant based food is a diet, veganism is a political movement for animal liberation. Oppressing others is toxic. Scolding ppl who advocate to end oppression is toxic. Fighting for the liberation of the oppressed isn't toxic. Hope this helps
