[SPOILER] ::: First i want say about the rotoscope animation, this is first film i saw like this, it’s a unique way to portray the story without any real life constraints. and the story also was good with a well casted characters. In the beginning i wasn’t able to understand the intricacies of the movie, specifically the opening sequence, but later on found he was paranoid. It took me long enough to understand and when it revealed it’s quite intriguing to learn about the addiction and surveillance(just on small scale). This story was written by Philip K Dick. One of the unique writer for his thoughts and what a contribution he made to the cinema. I watched some of his works like Blade runner, Total Recall and this. I noticed his works are mainly based on what is reality and dystopian fiction. Im interested to watch “The Man in the High Castle” next which i heard was a proper adaptation of his novel. I like to hear your thoughts about this movie and other of his works too.

I wish to know if someone could write a story, would they write the character with an actor/actress in mind, or would they develop a character from inspiration and cast someone aptly? Both approaches occur, but what would you prefer?

Because great directors like Martin Scorsese and Tarantino often cast actors like DiCaprio and Samuel Jackson repeatedly in their movies, are they writing characters specifically for them, or are these actors simply suitable for the directors’ vision?

Apart from the business perspective, many still prefer the story to the cast. The success is not fathomed by the box office collection, the impact of the flick is the real success imo.

I believe that a good artist with strong writing is essential for success. If I write a character for an actor I like, they may not resonate with the role and decline involvement. What could you do in such a scenario?

WB finally give an update of approving a new project on animated movie which is gonna produce by James Gunn, the new creative head of DC and that movie gonna release on theatres. It’s none other than Jurassic League.

We asked for Batman Beyond, but they gonna give us the Dinosaur version of Justice league. So clearly we can know that WB not gonna make films for the fans. No point on remaining as a fan for them.

Jodorowsky’s Dune (lemmy.world)

I watched the documentary about Jodorowsky’s Dune and it was jaw-dropping. I’ve never seen any of his movies, but I’ve heard about him as an occult figure. With the overwhelming fame of Dune, I heard about this documentary and watched it without any expectations. However, it completely changed my perception.

What a visionary creation! I’m stunned by the meticulous storyboard which had the camera moments of how he’s gonna show the story by the camera. This documentary featured some scenes from his movies like ‘El Topo’ and ‘The Holy Mountain,’ which inspired me to watch the movies.

What a crew he had: Jean Giraud, Giger, Chris Foss, and so many more. It showed how his team was used in Hollywood and how his creation made a huge impact on movies like Prometheus, Contact, and Alien.

He had a different ending from Herbert’s Dune, and it was good. The characters and the landscape were colourful and distinct in all ways like the texture, music and architecture. After it stalled for financial reasons, he made another creation as a comic inspired by what he created from Dune called “The Incal”, which Taika Waititi is going to adapt as a film. I hope it has the same artwork so we can see the vision from Jodorowsky’s Dune.
