  1. college doesn't teach much.
  2. college is still useful tho. It does require some determination and persistence to get through, or at least tolerance for dealing with. "This is the way to learn" junk.
  3. most actually useful knowledge is gained on the job
  4. I think most people fresh out of high school aren't ready for a real job, but college grads are barely ready too to be honest. Hyper generalized and i bet most people reading this are actually very qualified, that said I've met many college grads interning with us who just don't have the fortitude to do it just yet, hopefully by their second job they've grown accustomed to the dumb way of life we all call work.

I've never used a VPN with it.

Yes, but also... It's true. Browsers are the number one way folks get viruses.

Most of the time i get them from specific trusted sources. Then i hash them to make sure they are still the same file the author says it is. Like johncena cracks or similar.

Many games I try out as pirated and then buy them after I know I enjoy them. Sometimes I don't enjoy them and then I'm glad I didn't spend $60.

Emacs can do that obviously. And everything else.

Id suggest rust, gets you a step closer to the hardware and a bit of a different paradigm than Java while still feeling high level.

I think you mean, time for Bethesda to get their act together rather than create trash. I love skyrim, morrowind, and am excited for starfield, but larian is a bit smaller than Bethesda who is owner by zenimax who is owned by Microsoft and therefore has the folks to make awesome things. And yet you have BG3 as a masterpiece. It's all excuses to me. I wouldn't call it unfair. I'd call it fair. I'd say larian is even handicapped, and they just kicked the pants off Bethesda.

Except that's what happened with xmpp. Google and WhatsApp and Facebook all used to be xmpp. Once they had most their users they started ignoring the protocol and people who had regular xmpp servers we're viewed as weird by the rest of society since they couldn't see certain things and then to "fix" that, Google and Facebook stopped interoperating with xmpp and people said "hurray, no more broken stuff, thank you our giant tech overlords!"

This needs so much more noise! If only some of us were part of major news channels, more shareholders need to know now that reddit is in IPO process. It'll hurt bad.
