Sensors are cheap and have been around for a long time, but I'm going to guess the number one reason is the small part. Fewer cars = less traffic.

I've actually watched a city I visit regularly grow over about 20 years and it went from them having zero traffic to Los Angeles style traffic jams. This is despite their best efforts like making extra wide roads, using roundabouts, etc.

I really like Heroic because I don't want a separate app for each store. It's already annoying enough steam is a separate app.

Tastes are subjective of course, but I wouldn't eat at Popeyes if they paid me. I'd definitely rather have BK and I don't like BK.

Firehouse sells really tasty sandwiches at very reasonable prices and has a delicious chili sauce they sell by the bottle. I didn't realize it was a chain until I saw the original post.

I just want to specify further that large corporations that own a shit ton of properties are to blame.

Most pollution comes from shipping, agriculture, and other large industries. Poor countries/people cannot contribute because they are barely getting by as is. Even if the entire middle class in wealthy countries magically switched to electric/public/bicycling, started recycling, stopped watering grass, etc. it would make no noticeable difference.

The idea that social changes at individual level can help with pollution comes directly from propaganda pushed by cunts who are actually killing our planet for profit. Fuck them. Don't spread their lies.

Yes it was. That's exactly what I was referring to.

They are not as extreme, but you cannot realistically have a civilized discussion on their servers. Unfortunately they are much more established with several big communities which are hesitant to move to more reasonable servers so while hexbear was an easy insta-ban for me and most other Lemmy users, we're stuck individually blocking ml users for now.

But hopefully because of the idiotic choice of the ml domain, they will eventually go the way of hexbear.

Why are you looking at other countries when literally any state would be better than the shithole you're in? And even there I think you'll be perfectly fine in major cities.

But you're welcome to California. Not prefect, but not fucking Texas.

Yeah, verb is kind of a stretch though.

[–] daq 6 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I've seen this before and always thought the verb was a stretch since it is definitely not used in modern English, but I do like the idea of forming a sentence this way.

I'm sure there's a better example in Ukrainian, but

Як як? Ну як як? Як як як...

Not really a pun and not translateable as a joke, but same word that can repeat to form a sentence.

Joke is a guy went to the zoo and friend is asking him how was yak. He replies with yak was like yak.
