Pachinko is the best show airing right now imo. Phenomenal writing, directing, and acting. Minha Kim is absolutely incredible.

Awesome. Season 1 was genuinely phenomenal and I've heard really good things about the rest of the manga. Hopefully they maintain the quality of the production for season 2

I know most people here will be fine with pirating and most of these shows and movies will not actually be lost. But as this thread proves, even modern shows can be lost. And there are 2 things here I find especially sad:

  1. As mentioned in the article the CN website had a lot of digital games. I think most of them will be lost. This is something we've seen a lot throughout the history of web based games.

  2. "I’m more frustrated at the continued removal of online spaces for kids. It leads to them going to media spaces for adults, and that never ends well." from This reddit comment.

I watched it with some friends at one of their houses. Halfway through one of them said out loud: "This is kind of shit isn't it?" I think that basically sums up my feelings on it. I won't deny that they tried to explore some important themes but it's such an unmemorable mess that I can't even remember a few years out if they were successful at all. What I do remember is how uninspired and boring so much of the film was. Especially the fight scenes which are such an important core of the Matrix franchise.

I think they made it very clear early in the movie in a meta way through Neo's job that nobody really wanted to make it but that they were more or less forced to by Warner Bros. And it seems like it was ultimately made by Lana Wachowski as a fuck you to the studio and went out of its way to piss off the audience.

Yeah, unfortunately this is more and more true every year. And it's been bad for a while.

One of my earliest memories is watching this movie as a kid and being absolutely enthralled by Cameron Diaz.

Maybe. We don't have a lot of details. I feel bad for any potential job loss.

There's a fantastic Flintstones comic by Mark Russell that is a more adult and heavy take so if the show was planning on taking inspiration from that then I'd be super happy.

On the other hand it could have just been another Family Guy inspired knock off. Or god forbid something like Velma.

Oh man, please be good. I'm feeling the beginnings of some hype.

Edit: Okay so I actually read the article. Doesn't seem like Peter Jackson is actually going to be directing (at least not yet). And the first movie is about Gollum . Hype levels have plummeted. I have faith that they'll try to do their best but man I really hate how they've approached this franchise. More and more I think Christopher Tolkein was right when he talked about negative aspects about the mass commercialization of his father's work.

Seems like another soulless Disney remake. I think some of the shine has rubbed off now and I really doubt it'll be nearly as profitable as the Lion King remake

Personally I don't think Anya Taylor-Joy is the best casting for a young Furiosa and the first trailer I saw didn't exactly raise my hopes. But I trust George Miller to do his best with this so I'm cautiously optimistic.
