Really just curious what folks out there deem valuable enough to give money for monthly or annually. As a software engineer I have quite a few that keep me productive and I'll list a few:

  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity
  • Obsidian Sync
  • YouTube Premium

Hey everyone! Apologies for the self-promo but I'm really excited about this new tool I just launched. Thanks for the look!

First of all the upgrade removed my pinned contacts and apps, so I had to start the game of whack a mole all over again. The default suggested apps and contacts were apps I never used and people I never contact.

You get 5 options now instead of 4 which is ok, but you can't have two rows of favorites. Just one. The first pinned app slot is now taken up by a permanent "nearby share" icon that can't be removed so you basically have 4 pinned app slots.

I still haven't been able to pin the handful of individuals I share things with yet. Hopefully eventually they are graced by the algorithm lords and show up some day so I can pin them.

Yes. If I say "set an alarm for 3,422 minutes from now" my fucking computer phone should be able to do it. The whole point is it's NOT a human.

The AI should be smarter. "That's an alarm for Tuesday, right?" is a confirmation it could ask.

The whole point of the assistant is to automate the manual steps 🤔

If not any good tools out there to seamlessly AI summarize articles? I'm imagining an app you can just share a URL to that would instantly render a summary for you.

The article reads like an April fool's joke.

One thing I like about Plex is that there's literally an app for every device I own. What's the Jellyfin support there?

AI Summary:

This text is talking about why it is important to stop being part of the Facebook/Threads/Meta social media platforms. It says that these companies have done bad things like help with genocides and manipulate people's opinions. They have also invaded people's privacy and tried to control the internet. The text says that we shouldn't believe anything these companies say because they are not trustworthy. It also says that by leaving these platforms, we are protecting ourselves and our network. It is like our immune system fighting against harmful things. The text suggests that we should focus on making our own social media platforms better instead of relying on these big companies.
