He's lying through his teeth when he says it will ONLY cost $125 billion and take 3 years. It will likely take $500 billion and take 10 years if it even survives the budget of the next president. This is going to be such a massive, massive waste of time and money that the US will be actually vulnerable to the perceived enemies that we aren't vulnerable to now. He's going to kill useful programs in order to pay for this thing that will never work.

I've followed Spurs less this year than in past years, so I'm not aware of what has caused their form to be so bad. Injuries? Managing? Not spending on talent? Even winning a trophy is hard to justify keeping him if the root cause of such an unbelievably horrible season is him.

Sorry, best we can do is having the audience dodge roll every scene.

I am enjoying "dunk on United" week.

It seems to be mostly a euro thing. BMW stopped using oil dipsticks nearly 2 decades ago.

I was about to make this joke: "That's just not true. My 2008 BMW had a... holy shit, that car is nearly 2 decades old now." Then I went to confirm, and that car did NOT have a dipstick. The car came with 5 years of "free" service and never gave me a day of trouble, so I never realized it didn't have a dipstick. That's probably a major reason it was removed, since even a DIYer like me who likes to work on things myself never even tried to use the dipstick in 4 years.

As funny as it is that the first trophy Spurs gets in 14 years and first real trophy in 40 years doesn't even get respected enough to have medals on hand for all the players, this sounds like it is on Spurs... which I guess is also funny, since they can't even be successful when they win.

97% Liverpool, 95% Wolves... but Everton over here like, "Not even one."

Imagine a Spurs supporter who wasn't able to watch the game. They didn't have to watch this awful game but still get the emotion of a big trophy win!

I can't believe it actually happened. And in one of the worst seasons!

What a fucking wild story line.

Everton coming in as expected.

See, Spurs were the underdog the whole time!

Those of us who paid attention knew Musk and his companies were awful at least as early as 2014. All these Tesla bumper stickers that say, "I bought this before he went insane" or whatever are bullshit. He was an insane asshole 10 years ago, but you weren't paying attention.

How dare you allow us to make this incredibly stupid mistake?!

Is there a way to force a sync/update of a federated community? When I go to https://soccer.forum I can see all kinds of recent activity. When I go to https://lemmy.world/c/main@soccer.forum I don't see any new posts for the last 16 days.

Both the Philly/New England and LAFC/Vancouver playoff match-ups are rematches of the final game of the season. There is a chance those four teams will play four games in a row in this new playoff format.

If Vancouver beats LAFC this weekend, RSL beats Colorado (likely), and Houston beats Portland (likely), then the first round of the playoffs will have LAFC playing Vancouver in a best of 3. That would be minimum of 3 games in a row between the two teams and a possibility for a 4th game.

I kind of hate it.

I didn't check Eastern Conference, but there is also a very very low likelihood of Houston and Portland playing 3-4 games in a row. That requires Seattle, Dallas, and San Jose all losing, LAFC losing, and Houston beating Portland by enough goals.

I found a very active soccer community randomly while surfing not logged in. When I got back to my computer that was logged in, I had the hardest time finding it. And when I finally found it, the community didn't show any new posts for the last 7 days and was far less active. I swapped to a different browser that wasn't logged into lemmy and could see all the newest posts.

So I tried subscribing to see if that would force a sync, but it didn't do anything.

Basically, when I'm logged into lemmy.world I cannot see any new posts on lemmy.world/c/main@soccer.forum but when I'm logged out and go to the exact same address I can see all the newest posts.
