windows xp kernel included dirty hacks from when ms-dos 6.22 was in active development and not released yet and they might still be there in 10

great, now the compiler wont let me modify my programs (i really should get better at coding because i seem to only know to do spaghetti)

[–] dosuser123456 0 points 2 weeks ago

tbh nor am i, this is becoming vim vs emacs 2.0 isnt it

[–] dosuser123456 2 points 2 weeks ago

thats exactly what the "you get the idea" line meant, i was only giving some examples because if i did itd be literally every language

(also modern c is spaghetti, but old c is even more. legacy code is spaghetti no matter the language)

You should see some of my code. On second thought, it’s probably best you don’t.

thats the same warning i give to anyone looking at ~/scripts. particularly ~/scripts/bas, ~/scripts/js and ~/scripts/bat_bkp (which is copy of /mnt/msdos/jp/batch)

all code in those folders is like that

well, in my country (spain) assembler and assembly are basically used interchangeably, so i do that a lot. will take into account for future posts tho.

TRYING TO DEFINE CHIPTUNE ARTISTS ON YOUTUBE WITH A SENGLE SENTENCE:

  • dublUayayaychtee: that one dude who plays minecraft, uses modplug a lot and likes taking 2 year long naps between uploads (and has a really weird name)
  • no one 1: some 16 year old dev who likes using a LOT of drums whenever he touches famitracker
  • Mugo: "its just a little project while i get better and become good enough to broaden my style" proceeds to drop an absolute banger
  • CHP-3Y: a cyborg dude who makes covers of videogame ost that are better than the actual ost of the game
  • TTW: "guys i have depression, this track sucks bcuz im kinda out of ideas rn" proceeds to drop one of the best things youve ever heard coming from the 2a03 and make a whole driver in asm just to have a better dpcm sample looping
  • Abstract64: "ima torture opl3 a bit lol, and make its cries for mercy sound like something youd hear in a professional album"
  • EntropyAuthor: "look, they added more chips to furnace, ima make a song with em :D"
  • FireSpike33: casually makes the biggest banger youve ever heard in all of chiptune
  • WheatenClient33: that one dude who ALWAYS uses the vera when making stuff in furnace (and who for some reason one of their tracks is literally an x86 mov instruction)
  • zabutom: "guys what if i use fasttracker2 as a sample in fasttracker2"
  • Persune: "k here u hav masterpiece. 2 chords" somehow the thing never gets boring
  • selina: go go go gadget nes
  • Unconventional: "AY IN BEEPBOX GUYS. AY IN BEEPBOX."

and those are all i can think about rn
