Thank you! I love it!

Totally, I can see me using this for 3 games max because they look pretty on the wall but the rest goes into kallax

These all look sick! Which ai are you using? If you have the time, would be curious about mine :)

Wow! Amazing take at that! I appreciate a lot your selection!

Good point. Its not my favorite gaming experience but works well enough and is great for prototyping

Maybe I am reading this wrong but it looks grim. Downward trends all around

Yeah, you got a point. We use Ultra Pro but sometimes they get quite sticky. Maybe they are building up electrostatic charge.

Our collection also is not huge and we tend to play the same game over and over again before we commit to something new

They are so crazy expensive. A game with 200-400 cards can easily double in prize. But maybe its the only good option

We do have a 3D printer and I love improving my games with all sorts of little things. I did also print some 1-part, 2-part, 3-part and 4-part stackable, multicolored trays which I love and use for many game.

And I have also folded some origami for Everdell which is a great addition and still all fits into the box:

But my favorite is our Burgundy Hexagon - it holds all the components of the game and includes also two dice trays. I would not want to play it without it, it makes playing much more fluid. The downtime inbetween phases is super short.

And all put back together:

Which mats and sleeves can you recommend?

We usually sleeve games once its obvious we are going to play it a lot. Terraforming Mars, Clank, Dominion, Ark Nova all come to mind. But sometimes the sleeves are rather sticky. It feels like good sleeves are super expensive.

This week we played our recent purchase of Viticulture for the first time. As a learning-game with two players the experience was fine. It was not exceptional but still enjoyable and very thematic.

I think it blends some worker placement and order-fullfilment well. We will have to play a couple more times to make a final assessment.

We also played our classics Dominion and Ark Nova

Why should they do that?

Which one of these have you tried? At what point should it just be a computer game?

Personally, most complex game I tried is Ark Nova which did not even make it on this list.

Even some simpler games can have a lot of dependencies that make playing tedious like Hogwarts Battle

I have been tinkering around a game idea and have developed some of the components and even play-tested some parts on Table Top Simulator. However, when it comes to balancing and creating the economy I am having difficulty coming up with a good workflow. I was wondering if there is any good resource for game creators. Maybe some guides, websites or books that teach the basics, theory and help with implementation.

I am looking for ideas on how to balance the rewards of the different resources in the game. All different game strategies should be somewhat winnable, even though they might be very different.

Anyone aware of something? Or has faced something similar but found a way to solve it? I am all ears.

Has anyone played this "new" Everdell? It went entirely under my radar but it looks.... extremely similar to the original. Is it just a reskin with some slight modifications?

I never really played any murder mystery games but enjoy watching documentaries about such topics. What are your recommendations?

In anticipation of this years Essen Spiel 2023, which games have you played last week? Any nice discoveries, interesting mechanisms, reviews, warnings and experiences are all welcome!

This is about Mancala Style boardgames which are probably one of the oldest types of games since all you need is some pits and pebbles and a set of rules to play it

Taking it with a grain of salt and does not seem to be a game I would like. But maybe someone is interested
