This is just going to serve to put people that were on the fence off of Lemmy and they'll go back to reddit.

Satisfied Jellyfin user here. I had a Plex server for years but they kept pushing all kinds of new features I didn't want that just made everything feel slower.

If I'm spending less time staring at my phone and more time picking up a book or something, all the better for me. I've found myself engaging more and doomscrolling less though, so the time feels more well spent even though I'm spending less time then I would have on reddit.

I don't care if all the subreddits come back. I've already deleted my account and will not be going back.

Stash it all somewhere or migrate it here if possible, then torch the place. Users will follow the content, if the /r/piracy userbase all move somewhere else, then that platform will grow and we won't have to put up with reddit anymore.

Exactly! I used to think of reddit like that, until it became something...different. I've found myself going back to old forums instead of reddit lately.

Reply directly from Inbox works fine for me, both in website and in Jerboa app. What are you using to connect?

I signed up as a lemmy.ml user before they started getting hammered and ended up making a new account at a smaller server. I think a lot of the lag yesterday was a result of droves of redditors heading over to the bigger lemmy servers.

I love the concept of decentralization. Feels more like the internet of old.

He did what now?

[-] dracul104 3 points 1 year ago

Nah, fuck em, nuke it all, don't even give reddit the traffic from our old data. I deleted all my old comments and posts.

Good mobile apps are key, I agree. My main use of reddit was on mobile. Currently using Jerboa, which seems okay except it keeps logging me out for some reason.
