This whole anime is calling me out.
I spent most of my life not knowing who I was because I was hyper vigilant of the people around me and kept adjusting my personality to be "socially acceptable."
This is how you punish honesty. I am unfortunately really good at lying, but it's still exhausting. I just can't comprehend why people can't just let people be "weird." Why is conformity such a big deal anyway. Who gives a shit.
This anime may have gotten me a little worked up with unpleasant memories. Still, it's cute and I love it and I want moar.
As much as it pains me to say this, I want the anime industry to collapse. Hopefully if that happens more studios will attempt to create anime without the bullshit system they use now and maybe the animators won't be crunched to death.
I love anime but why does everything I love need to be stained in blood :(
I thought the same as Aqua about stage plays when I first read this chapter in the manga. Someday I'm gonna go to Japan and watch an actual stage drama.
This was a hilarious episode and I cannot express the joy I'm feeling that the adaptation is finally out... almost.
This could have been a 10 but the unnecessary fan service annoys me ๐ฉ
I don't dislike fan service inherently but it just feels out of place in RoshiDere. It's not like the manga doesn't have any but it's annoyingly pronounced in the anime.
The description looked interesting so I decided to give it a try and now I'm invested. I can't wait to see how this plays out.
I noticed that but since it's the first episode I didn't want to jump to conclusions. The other irl characters were also represented symbolically, so it's probably either to communicate that the character is the one that matters in the scene and the actor is irrelevant, or could also just be a way to maintain the "illusion" so to speak. At the very least, I'm inclined to believe that if they understand this much about vtubers, they must have made a concious creative decision to represent her as the character irl. Whether or not that was a good decision remains to be seen.
Either way it still bothered me though.
I was worried at first but it seems like this show is actually pretty well written. Whether it gets better or worse remains to be seen but the first episode makes me think that it's going to be good. I mean, it's not exactly a high bar to clear but the representation was done right imo at the very start so I'm optimistic. I can see the internalized transphobia, and Makoto isn't being fetishized or being made the butt of the joke. I think I'm going to end up getting attached to the main cast.
Some good laughs. Can't wait to see where this goes.

It's almost funny. Honestly, the only way I can see them regaining any trust at all is by a complete change in leadership and increased transparency and accountability.
I haven't calculated how much the new revenue split would be on average so take this as a random scribble on a napkin, but I wouldn't be surprised if most studios choose to never upgrade to the next version.
Just remember, the current CEO was too greedy even for EA.
Hmm yes. I have nothing to say because my brain melted so I'm just going to put the screenshot here and be on my way.
