i dont think theres anything wrong with sync enjoyers loving their app but i have to agree that the iap money would be better spent on actually keeping instances alive

american car dependency and minimum parking requirements, mostly

[-] esty@lemmy.ca 14 points 1 year ago

sites doing this probably wouldn’t be worth using anyways

what about when your bank adds this? have you tried using a safetynet enforcing app on a rooted android phone? this has bigger implications than you’re seeing

Apparently they're going to move the system files to their own protected partition in 12, first good Microsoft change?

From the site:

This is an independent DIY search engine that focuses on non-commercial content, and attempts to show you sites you perhaps weren't aware of in favor of the sort of sites you probably already knew existed.

Where this search engine really shines is finding small, old and obscure websites about some given topic, perhaps old video games, a mystery, theology, the occult, knitting, computer science, or art.

i know the fediverse has been pretty split and a lot of big instances (mainly microblogging and mastodon-like softwares, but some lemmy instances are defederating meta too) but what do you think?

i uninstalled wefwef to get the new icon in the last update, i had it installed as a pwa and it would show up in my app drawer like an actual installed app

now i click the same install button from chrome but it only lets me add it as a shortcut? i can't get it to install as an actual app

anyone else have this?

we all know Google's usefulness has diminished if you're searching for something the algorithm doesn't have it's nose on, personally i don't feel searxng (i used the nicfab.eu one) gives the best or most useful results either, what's out there?

I think multilemmies are what the threadiverse really needs - stops the people whining fragmentation because now all the content is in one place

lemmy.ca has closed registration and you need to write an application, so i dont think this affects us as much as a bigger / open instance

Reddit says they're not against replacing mods of blacked out subs. It's so over for them https://www.macrumors.com/2023/06/15/reddit-threatens-to-remove-subreddit-moderators/
