At least for me, I feel the same way (despite liking women) because I disliked seeing something that was relatively low quality get upvoted purely because of sex appeal. Hell, there's even a whole sub dedicated to the idea that people just paid attention to the sex appeal, only to be surprised that the content itself was really cool

I've never actually used many old style forums (except for Pine64's) since I'm a bit younger, and my parents were strict on using the internet when I was younger. I honestly don't think the distro matters too much if you just use steam. I use Arch and haven't had any issues with steam or proton that I can recall. SteamOS is itself Arch-based as well

Agreed. I've gotten increasingly worried that the web has consolidated more and more. I'm actually very surprised to see some traction for new sites (especially the fediverse). I'm hoping more of the big internet companies trash their established positions and hopefully help inject some newer life into the internet
