I just looked through and that whole community looks like /r/terriblefacebookmemes, but they're serious

I'm really enjoying it. I feel way more inclined to post here, I very rarely did over at Reddit. People seem a lot more receptive and willing to participate.

Only downside is that it doesn't have the history Reddit has, so I still find myself using Reddit's history for research. I haven't installed the new app though, and I haven't looked at /r/all since the API changes went into affect.

Could be interesting, I enjoy the comics when they pop up on social media. Not sure how it's going to adapt to something longer form but I'll keep an open mind.

Actively making the world worse

I don't think it really matters, but I picked vlemmy.net because it wasn't too big. I figured that the bigger ones were staring down the barrel of a huge influx in traffic, so I wanted to avoid them.

I didn't see any evidence of the admin being shady, but also wasn't too hasty with the defederate button.

Yeah, I bailed on the final episode because the rest was so underwhelming, and the last episode was bordering on feature length.

It's a shame because I'm a big fan of Charlie Brooker, I loved the earlier seasons.

I thought Joan Is Awful was alright, but too much time was spent on the premise and the twist felt rushed. Loch Henry was good, but not the "what would happen if was real" type premise that I've come to expect from the show. Beyond the Sea was about 40 minutes too long. Mazey Day... I have no idea what they were thinking.

I genuinely wish I liked it more, but this is two underwhelming seasons in a row for me now 😕

Is it controversial to say I'm a big fan of Walkers Baked Ready Salted? 😅

Hard agree, they're terrible 🤮

I don't listen to too much of the more classic prog stuff, but here are some more modern ones that you might be into:

  • Porcupine Tree (Gavin Harrison was the drummer in King Crimson)
  • The Pineapple Thief (Another Gavin Harrison band)
  • Haken (Recommend starting with The Mountain - my favourite)
  • Leprous (Older stuff has more distorted/screamed vocals, newer stuff is a lot cleaner)
  • Thank You Scientist

Four Tet's unpronounceable side-project is great too. Search for: ⣎⡇ꉺლ༽இ•̛)ྀ◞ ༎ຶ ༽ৣৢ؞ৢ؞ؖ ꉺლ

This EP is a great place to start: ooo ̟̞̝̜̙̘̗̖҉̵̴̨̧̢̡̼̻̺̹̳̲̱̰̯̮̭̬̫̪̩̦̥̤̣̠҈͈͇͉͍͎͓͔͕͖͙͚͜͢͢͢͢͢͢͢͢͢͢͢͢͢͢ͅ oʅ͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡( ؞ৢ؞ؙؖ⁽⁾˜ัิีึื์๎้็๋๊⦁0 ̟̞̝̜̙̘̗̖҉̵̴̨̧̢̡̼̻̺̹̳̲̱̰̯̮

It's a bit more analogue than his normal stuff? But definitely hits the "intricately crafted" mark!
