i test-drove obsidian for a few days and it was nice, but i didnt see any strong advantages over joplin. it also lacks native webdav support, which joplin has. i understand there are webdav plugins (i used one, worked fine), but i dont want to rely on third-party plugins to access my notes.
i doubt they have any malicious intent because the fediverse is nothing to them. they'll use and improve activitypub, which is great, but eventually corporate strategy/shareholders will take them in a different direction and they'll fork. damage will de done to the fediverse regardless, but there is no malicious intent involved.

sounds like it may be a wonky dns server. if youre interested, try re-enabling ipv6 but use something like cloudflare's dns in lieu of your ISP's

look into PS Remote Play. i play my PS5 on a chromebook wherever i am at home to not wake the baby. the official app is fine, but the unofficial client Chiaki has linux/android/windows clients and has better performance and options. latency is as low as anything else on your LAN
