Hold up. You think the Chinese are the ones deciding to manufacture low quality products, and not the capitalists who are ordering them that way?

Chinese brands owned by Chinese capitalists operating with consent from the chinese state.

spreading their wealth to those in need

Using planned obsolescence and taking advantage of poor consumer and environmental protection laws to sell garbage to people trapped in a cycle of poverty isn't exploitation? Also China 'invested' billions here too and we didnt get any hospitals. We got china flooding our markets with its shitty goods and chinese 'businessmen' running scam centers.

They value mutually beneficial relationships

they do have a mutually beneficial relationship with our dictators.

You do it by exploiting the billions outside your borders from countries even more poor like mine where they sell their garbage low quality products that cant be repaired or recycled, from shitty earphones to bikes that start breaking down in a year, taking advantage of poor people who cant afford to buy anything of better quality. China isnt better than us when it comes to exploitation and inequality.

It allows any pos to spread their garbage misinformed opinions as facts. its full of adult weirdos making softcore porn knowing the platform is full of minors and many intentionally targeting their content towards them. Its full of grifters peddling pseudoscientific supplements, cosmetics, medical advice etc. Its full of rwnj and pseudo progressives from all over the world spreading populist propaganda. It also makes it easy for any anti social pos to get famous.

Probably because you're accessing it from a country where its not available. free.facebook.com is also another link that only works in countries their internet.org is available in.

[–] gubblebumbum@lemm.ee 4 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Thats what internet.org was about, fb partnered with major telecoms in many countries with no net neutrality laws to let people use fb for free and a few other websites but except for wikipedia most were pretty much useless.

My friends and relatives couldn't believe that I didn't know the route to my school or home. Apparently, it's something you should just know after years of taking those routes even as a passenger. I didn't know that it wasn't normal for your brain to be constantly preoccupied with thoughts and that you should just be able to focus on things and remember them. It sucks living in a shithole where people either dont know anything about mental disorders or dont care that you have one.

It comes preinstalled in a lot of phones and cant be uninstalled and in some phones they dont preinstall the main fb app instead they'd have something like 'facebook manager' or 'something service' which only shows up in app list when you select the "show system apps" option.

if something makes linux more secure, safer or easier to use then it'll be hated because people in the linux community are allergic to all those things. Secure boot? they hate it, wayland? they hate it, immutability? they hate it, flatpaks/sandboxed app? they hate it, gnome? they hate it. Even rust is hated by many.
