API is almost done! Been using an internal build of the app that uses Artemis’ kbin instance with those changes. And oh god is so much better 👌

So we’re nearing a point where apps for kbin will start popping up ✨

Working hard on it! Can’t wait for API to go live to make it widely available.

I wrote an API adapter layer to be able to support both kbin and lemmy in the app. Want to open source that as a package, so hopefully more apps can easily add support for both 🤞

I just chalk some things up to creative freedom.

Dark or light. #iOS or #Android. You’ll get theming options to personalize your #Threadiverse experience with #ArtemisApp! Shout out to our designer @lvndr!

Thanks for the shoutout! App is coming along!

a video and pics of current alpha build.

And see this toot, of me having fun with force touch to preview links :p

I was just commenting about that! We’re getting Android peeps to make sure that uncanny feeling is not there on v1.

Starting to test Android builds before we start our incremental rollout (private beta). We’re going to onboard an Android dev to make sure we get an authentic experience. On top of user feedback. So for sure not the final form! Still, feels good to use already!

Not much love for Kbin! </3

But I get it, without an official API, it's a lot of work to get one going. I just refuse to use Lemmy, so I'm committed on getting a Kbin app ASAP. We're just about to have alpha.1 build ready and it's pretty darn usable.

EDIT: me not going w Lemmy was due to devs. I still think it’s a viable platform for the fediverse, especially with all the instances out there besides theirs (and being open source). Kbin being completely separated just felt like the right choice for me when picking between the two.

Artemis: Road to v1.0 (docs.google.com)

Sharing here the roadmap to public release. Including details on beta rollout and features.

I'll share a doc EOD (PST) with more details timeline.

But basically, private beta will start ramping up end of month. Initially supporting #kbin instances. But adding #lemmy support midway. Expanding the beta publicly mid to late July.

but the fediverse can handle it ;)

I used Relay for a couple years way back. You betcha I’m gonna get as much as I can in smooth gesture interactions 👌

And yea, it uses an in-app browser. Will expose config for those who want that off, also.

Also, I heard a lot of great things bout Joey, so I gotta get my hands on it 👀

Ive been thinking about customizations like that while working on it. I want localization, so everything already has right to left support. I can use that piping to help w moving arrows.

Also, youll be able to double tap to vote ;)

(Community muting is a must for sure)

Developing as x-plat codebase. And we have an equal split of beta testers across platform. So wanna prioritize em equally!

in the coming weeks there will be some waves of rollouts to testers. Hopefully we’ll go public not far from there :)

Dev here! I’ll be taking a look at all the suggestions here for those that can’t vote on the toot itself :)

Hoping to have a private beta test within a month or two. For now calling the app Kmoon (K🌛)

EDIT: the app will be x-platform (iOS, Android and Mac)
