If you followed proper sterile procedures, used a SAB, and if you got the MSS from a reputable source, it's not uncommon. Congrats! Great start! I always wait for the mycelium to colonize the top of the agar before making transfers

It was actually a grain to grain transfer but yeah you're correct, I started with mycelium and not spores.

Sounds like you're just getting to the exciting part! Share some pictures if you can, I'd love to see!

Me too! Yeah, they definitely drop spores, they have reverted from most typical APE features, but still pack quite a punch.
