For ramen get some quality fish sauce (no salt on the bottom of the bottle is a good visual cue), a bit goes a ways, but it adds wonderful depth to noodles. Also, a touch of mayo is excellent for the poor-man's "creamy" style noodle dishes (like chicken flavour.)
In the prison system over in the states they have a casual shared meal called "spread" (like a dinner party for convicts), and it truly takes dry shelf foods into art form.
The last proper flame thrower designed as a weapon was the M202 FLASH, it's a flame-rocket-launcher (with 4 tubes.) Jonathan Wild, who built and licensed one, has videos and a book about it. Total waste of time, but still entertaining.
