They froze my entire account for 500usd. The rest of the 14500 was from other happy customers.

I use a regular bank for credit card services now and when there is something contested, it's only for the charged amount that is held. Not my entire account.

I used PayPal for their credit card service.

Most small and medium businesses don't have crypto. They use corporate P cards. So a business would call me if they launched something and the site tanked in sales. 2500 on their corporate card and their problem is fixed.

There is still a stigma for crypto.

I use my computer for gaming. Never a problem. Wine fails once in awhile. I end up having to dual boot and then spending all my time on the windows side. Then I wondered why I tried so hard to make fetch happen.

Story time: I have a side business selling web optimization services. UX, AB testing, etc.

I got busy and didn't take my money immediately after completing a few projects and one of my clients complained to Paypal about my service. My account was immediately locked and it took me at least 3 months to get access back to my account.

They basically had 15k of my money, interest free for them to play with even tho the contested amount was $500. I ended up just eating the 500 just to get access to my account, even tho the client is still using the improvements I made to their site.

So ya, fuck Paypal. Fffuuuucccckkk PayPal.

I don't use Linux or Apple. Just debloated Windows 11(Tiny 11).

I also don't watch Star trek or even watch TV.

The self hosted model has hard coded censored content.

Untrue, I downloaded the vanilla version and it's hardcoded in.

That is a great idea.

I guess I see small talk as gateway questions to deeper conversations. I met me wife by asking about the weather.

What's your favorite color? Do you like hot wheels? Perhaps our definition of small talk differs from others. To me it's a starting point to get into deeper conversations.

I used to work for a very large bank and the amount of times I couldn't open an account because of Chex systems makes me fear for the poor people in America.

This is a pure attack on unfortunate.

I'm an old redditor that left the platform for Lemmy.

I have been using Sync and using lemm.ee.

I have heard so much about activity pub and simply don't understand how to use it. Do you use a browser to visit another website that is like a Lemmy instance? Is there an Android app that connects a bunch of instances like pixelated and Lemmy instances together? Or is Sync able to do all this but there is a setting I need to do.

Can someone please help shed some light to this? Thank you.

Thank you for clicking my post.

I'm currently running a Synology Notestation with around 8 clients and while it mostly works, sometimes images don't load correctly(or doesn't at all) and has failed on me one too many times.

I'm looking for another notes app similar to DS notes.

1- Rich Text Editor 2- Self hosted 3- Has multiple users enabled 4- Native Android app

Nice to have: 1- offline mode 2- FOSS 3- Has an active community

I host files for my entire family and they rely on notes for all their important documents. So it has to be simple to use.

I have tried benotes, but not having a Native Android app makes it hard for normies to use it. I also tried Joplin, but it's single user only.

Thank you for the suggestions.
