How quickly the second half of my life has gone..i guess it has been filled with more variety and more going on. Could be the monotony of it all too that it all blends in. It's bonkers how quick things pass. I mean, COVID started 4 years ago..where has that gone! I have a 15yo son! l still feel like I'm 21 ..but with less-than-ideal moving body parts. My knees, no pain, just don't move like they used to. I wish I could do half the things i see some 50 year olds doing in the movies..jumping over fences like I used to as a teen..and and and

Hey fans.. does early access typically start at midnight in your respective timezone or does it/can it change? I'm in Australia if that helps

Vinyl records... 25 years ago you could hardly buy them . I listen to punk and they never gave up on the format and so it was cheap and collectible because print runs were small.. from 2010 onwards, they came back in fashion and the major labels started clogging up the pressing plants and then pre-orders became a thing and the price started creeping up...now, in my country a vinyl that used to be $20 is now pushing $55 and mainstream artists are pushing $70 ...my desire has really waned.. I'm priced out of finding new artists because I can't buy everything all the time like I used to.

Motorbike Noob (lemmy.world)

Hey fans, I bought a motorbike the other day and have been riding a total of 2 hours. I have a braking question, and this is based off how I drive my car, do you or should you, engine brake coming to a stop? Or slow down, clutch in, shift to first and then use brakes? Or do both? And if that's the case, in what situation?

I was talking to my girlfriend about how some people have a shadow person/dark figure and was wondering if Lemmiters would like to share their story so she, and others, get to know about them.

I guess potential trigger warnings.

Also, not sure if it's ok to ask about shadow persons.. leave it to the mods to mod

We don't have to have double glazed windows in Australia. The energy rating is often sold as 5 star! But, the scale is out of 10 🙄.

We're a dumb country when it comes to building houses. I'm not an architect, or an engineer, but, out summers reach 40°C+ in summer, yet our modern houses have dark grey roof's made of colorbond steel. Too hot outside, let me crank my air con...there goes that 5 star rating of my barely energy efficient home

Aimed at Australians, but anyone really.. I'm about to do the stay upright/pre-learner. I'm early mid forties and obvs need a LAMS anyway. Once I eventually become unrestricted, can I remove the LAMS restrictions on the bike? Is this what is done or do I buy an unrestricted bike?

Imagine being his or her manager that doesn't have a contingency or cross trained staff.

I say yes. But, I work with them professionally not in the US. They are banned in my country for personal/private use. Working with commercial/professional quantities and the safety around them provides more enjoyment to me than weaker, consumer grade where the danger is still the same and the effect is much less. I watch these videos of backyard displays and they all explode at the same height and it's just too messy. But thats me!
