Funny enough it’s actually the older of my two TVs that does it well. I think it marks a noticeable drop in product quality for that particular manufacturer. So still the same idea; that worse hardware gives bad results, but it’s not limited to the age of the TV just its component quality.

First off; downvoted for a lukewarm opinion? Come on Lemmy, be better.

I’ve thought about this subject a lot and my thoughts are that it boils down to whether someone has been raised on movies (specifically 24fps) or video games (specifically 60fps).

For me, movies look like a jittery mess. I have two TV’s and the motion smoothing on one is very good but I’ve never been able to get it just right on my other one. They’re the same brand of TV just a decade apart.

Once I submitted a leave request months in advance and it didn’t get signed until the day after I left. The day before when I was leaving the office they were making a big deal of the fact it wasn’t signed and I hit them with “it’d be nice if I still have a job when I come back” and left.

It’s not like I was going to cancel all of the booking because they didn’t do their job.

Pollies like to say free speech is “implied” when it supports them and point out that it’s not a right when it doesn’t support them.

It’s a funny ol’ system.

Hope those 6 officers got hazard pay for escorting such a dangerous criminal. She may look like a stiff breeze will push her over but don’t be fooled! Maybe they should have had a tank gun trained on her just to be sure.

Always amazes me how strong police want to look whilst accidentally looking incredibly weak.

We had one that had to be cleaned every 3 months or so. The laser would begin sticking on the guide rails and have to be re-lubricated.

Do they though? As a side note, I read the documentation for the proposed system of scanning and it was actually really well designed for privacy. The problem was if they were forced to expand the scope to include other material such as, for example, proof of protest against a regime.

I don’t know if it’s caused by Voyager, the website or Lemmy by I’ve seen a few of these cut-off thumbnails but they are hilarious every time!

[iPhone 15 PM] Has anyone else been having issues with alarms only sounding for a moment? I’ve caught mine a couple of times where it goes off for about a second and then stops completely. Makes waking up for work a bit sketchy!

Whilst the keys weren’t visible in the UI they could still be interacted with and worked normally.

I’ve submitted feedback.

This only appeared for a second before returning to the date but it looks like time to charge will be displayed on the Lock Screen.

Hopefully it can be set to stay in-place.

I know when things first kicked off we would get server updates semi-regularly such as finances and server load. I can’t say I’ve seen one for a while, just wondering how things are going?

Looks like cycle count, manufacture date and first use date are all new. I wonder if the information will be accurate for aftermarket batteries?

I have accounts on two instances and couldn’t figure out why the feed was semi-broken and running out of posts on one. Since then the second instance posted about updating to 19.0 from 18.5, after the update I’m having the same issues as I did with the first server. I’m assuming they made the shift to 19.0 earlier. Seems to work in the respective PWA’s, but not in Mlem.

I’ve logged out and back in with the first affected account without any change and cleared the app cache.

Mlem V1.1.1 iPhone 15PM iOS 17.2

I recently updated to a 15PM from a 12PM and as such am new to always on display (AoD). I’ve found that the first touch after waking from AoD on the Lock Screen registers at first and then is ignored/reversed. Is this normal behaviour that’s seen in all AoD iPhones or something related to my specific phone?

Edit: so I think I’ve found part of the issue. As the screen wakes there’s a short transition animation, if I wait for that to complete plus 1 second or so then it works as intended. If I interact mid-animation then it’ll either not register the input or cancel the input at the end of the animation.

I’ve found the touchscreen sometimes doesn’t register, especially the backspace button on the keyboard for some reason.

I’m considering putting in a report to Apple but don’t want to until I know whether it’s just me or a broader phenomenon.
