CC and open carry laws vary by state in the US.

I am in an open carry area with lax laws. Most people don’t open carry because it’s dumb in an urban area. Out in the rural areas it makes more sense.

Yes, MZLA is different then Mozilla Corp. It’s still under the Mozilla Foundation, but separate from Mozilla Corp.

Yeah. These problems are why I left Ubuntu for Fedora.

Is that… Flan?🍮

I’m not giving a care about a politician getting shot if I’m eating flan. It’s flan! ☺️

How was the interview? Did they pull questions from HackerRank?

Asking for me, because I’m an old CS grad in a bad job market.

Because I have to admin Windows boxes and M365. There are PS modules for lots of different MS things.

Drug tests penalize people for what they do on their own time. They’re a stick used to beat the proles.

Someone blasted at work is a problem. Klaus getting blasted off shift isn’t.

Secondary affects are probably worse, and more diabolical. Why kill one person when you could kill millions! Klaus running over Andy while blasted is less evil than the guy who put lead in gasoline.⛽️ Sure it’s easier to imagine, but one tear doesn’t make an ocean.

This true. Drugs are another tool to oppress people. The more money someone makes, the few drug tests they take.

It’s been well over a decade since I had to take a drug test for a job.

That name goes hard!

Indeed. Capitalism breeds this crap by focusing on competition excessively and creating an environment where it’s almost mandatory to participate. People need to be looking to exploit people at all times and that is a deflating concept for people.

People also need to go offline. The apps have been taken over by scammers and bots. It’s time to flush again. Which is also related to capitalism.

The house geckos were pretty chill little house guests.

Does anyone have USB-C dock recommends?

I have a Thinkpad P1 gen 4 running Fedora I’m going to be using as my desktop replacement, and I’m looking for a Linux friendly dock.

I don’t need the dock to do much. Ideally, it could drive 2x 4K DisplayPort displays, have a 2.5Gb+ Ethernet port, and a couple USB-A ports, but 2x 2K DisplayPort and 1GbE work too.

Preferred price is <$150.

Any opinions on an IM solution to send notifications to?

Something which can show push notifications on my phone would be ideal.

This is for my personal stuff which isn't critical or public. I would like E2EE if for no other reason then why not.

Top options:

  • Matrix
  • XMPP

Middle:

  • Jami (No API?)
  • Zulip (no EE2E)
  • Google Chat (no EE2E?, dealing with Google APIs)

No:

  • Briar (no iOS client)
  • Signal (no API)
  • Session (no API)
  • Whatsapp (API cost)
  • Threema (cost)
  • Wire (bot API in beta, cost?)
  • Telegram (sus)
  • Slack
