Why is this so highly up voted? Is there any data backing this up? This sounds eerily to the 5 second rule... If you pick up up quick enough it's safe!

I'd really love some sources on this.

Hehe that's an understatement. I think we have like an entire city there full of American soldiers.

Yea I've considered that but I'm afraid of opening up anything on my local network to the outside. I'm not sure I'm technical enough to risk accidentally opening something that's a vector for attacks. I'm ok with everything only accessible from 192 I'm not out enough for it to matter too much.

I have a pihole.

Every time I go out onto LTE I experience the shittery that the rest of the world lives with every day. It is brutal. I have no idea how people do it.

It's funny, even sync for lemmy I never use it outside because it also has huge shitty ads. But on my network all is nice and clean!

He's not the lesser of two evils. Cut this horseshit rhetoric. Biden has done a good job. No-one is perfect but calling him evil is just right wing propaganda both sides bullshit.

Trump is evil. If you want to see evil, vote Trump.

Man, I kind of feel for the poster.

A while back I was tinkering with some website and installed some npm packages.

Then I tried to delete the nodes modules folder.... NOTHING worked... Safe mode, permissions change, command line deletion,... I spend like an hour googling and raging, it's my fucking computer I put the fucking file there, let me delete it!!!

I was ready to give up and finally stumbled on the answer on stack overflow. The npm folder that was created (I forget exactly what it was) had the ~ symbol in path name and that basically made the folder invincible.

Luckily the poster also posted the command line to nuke the fucker and I was finally able to delete it.

So yea, I kinda get it. Seeing that stupid you don't have permission to delete this file pop-up is rage inducing.

When you go issue by issue, the overwhelming majority supports left policies and rejects right wing fuckery because right wing fuckery fucks over 90% of people.

Unfortunately most people are idiots and left candidates are morons when it comes to self marketing and expressing ideas, so it's always a coin flip...
