This post aims to be a posted list of relays which are known to not shadow ban, censor conservative thought, and or participate in shitty controlling behavior. Has anyone hosted one on a phone? I have a old pinephone collecting dust it would be funny to just make it into a lemmy instance.
I don't really love any of those tbh. But it's great to see progress and I want to join in in that. I think I'm just gonna write another UI with parts from Lemmy.
Really motivates me to get more into nostr. I started writing some code this morning. Little by little and if someone else finishes one first I'll just improve on theirs.

It does end up being worse in practice because defederation is used as some sort of virtue signal. In real life walls are expensive, difficult to erect and there is always a group of people trying to take it down. In the fediverse walls are easier than having a polite disagreement. Admins don't understand the issues and will usually cave to the loudest rather than the correct voices. I'm hopeful nostr will address these issues over the next two years.
