that's pretty funny and equally embarrassing. thank you for sharing. i admit, I don't pay much attention to traditional lunch times becsuse i mainly meet with network ops folks who have no concept of time or work-life balance. 24/7 or bust. i have a beard so foods like ribs, and tacos that fall apart are my kryptonite. i feel like i need to take a face shower after a meal at times. And honestly after the quarantine period of covid i felt like i had to learn how to interact with society again. cheers.

smart to collect that user base, and i welcome all the evicted vagabonds over to proxmox forums to help me solve all the messes i create.

i used OpenScan recently, another FOSS app - worked ok. Sources: Izzy's repo or Google Play

without a ton of thought, and other than my current house:

  • travel, in general. recently a trip to sail out of svalbard down to norway. it's another world up there

  • an inexpensive handtruck is one of the most useful tools i have

  • a 'prosumer' grade espresso machine and a grinder is used and loved every single day

when i was a kid i would go to the library all the time until 10, which was late for me at that age. i wasn't a big reader, but it was a perfect excuse to escape family.

actually, hunter-gatherer communities 'work' significantly less time than we do in our corporate jobs. farming is a different story: here's one study: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/05/190520115646.htm

i took this 3 day '7-habits' course as a network ops manager. myself and a couple others who were in there kept asking how we can apply this to our environment. they couldn't answer and by the end of the three days they just flat out said that these skills won't work at all in NOC management. i enjoy learning new skills, but those three days were miserable.

50% of america doesn't vote at all. we are a huge contributor to our own mess

what offshore pfd recommendations do you have? i have used several but never take note of brand/model. I'm looking at this mustang md3184; something with harness built in and easy enough to travel with.

Genuinely curious where you're getting these numbers. I can't seem to find any formal public opinion polls on the enacted or proposed bills

No, we actually don't. You're entirely wrong.

Hornsund - Svalbard (lemmy.world)

This was taken in the Hornsund - southern Spitsbergen. I would love to go back - a very stark and beautifiul place.

Last two songs in particular on 'Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride' are perfect with a dark room and a glass of whiskey
